I don't think at all that Mayweather is the best only because in order for me to believe he's the best he would have to prove it by fighting more frequently and more top notch opponents. To me in order for you to be the best you have beat the odds when their against you and their haven't been Too many times that i recall the odds against Mayweather.

why should he have to retire undeated and dominate his division for that long. srr never did, and he had 19 losses

I don't think he has what it takes to be GOAT.

He still has a lot of work to break into the top 10 all time.

If he were to beat Gatti, Tsyzu and Cotto in a two year period i would put him as the pound for pound best in the world. If he then beat Judah and DE LA HOYA ( hear this out ) and dominated for 5 years at welterweight and never lost, then maybe....one could rank him as one of the greatest ever.

So, let me get this straight. In order for you to "MAYBE" rank him as the "ONE OF" the greatest ever, he has to do something that nobody else has done....?

If is kinda crazy to hinge Floyd's greatness on a Winky fight. Winky has been a legitimate middleweight for a loooooong time. Since Floyd was a featherweight. Even today, PBF walks into the ring at 148. That isn't a modern welterweight. That is a lightweight. That is what Corrales and Castillo weigh fighting at 135.

Winky is 20 to 25 pounds bigger than Floyd.

In my opinion, there are simply too many great fighters to just say that Floyd is the greatest fighter ever at this point in his career. Let's just wait and see what he does, I think the guy's
got a ton of great things still ahead of him.

Amen. When people here rail against so-called 'nut huggers' they insist on judging fighters by their accomplishments. Floyd has accomplished plenty but not nearly enough for this. His big fights are still ahead. Relative to his accomplishments his is, for right now at least overrated. That is not to deny his skill.
