odd fight, but its not like there are any other opponents for Pavlik at 160.
so Im quite happy.
There are opponents he could fight just to continue to develop as a fighter, and along those lines, there are other trainers he could work with to continue to develop as a fighter.
Pavlik by late KO. Maybe unanimous decision. Only thing that blows me is that I will be at a wedding this night in Tampa. I hope the hotel has HBO. Now all the sudden Pavlik haters after the lost to Hopkins and the Abraham **** riders will see who the best is at middleweight. I'm not going to say Williams can't win this fight, but Pavlik hits harder and will be just as busy as Williams. Williams has faught nothing but guys much smaller than himself and Pavlik. Never faught anyone with a height advantage. Never faught anyone with as close as a reach he has. Never faught anyone with the length as Pavlik. Never faught anyone as busy as Pavlik. Williams doesn't even knock smaller guys out. He's going to knock Pavlik out? Yea right! Williams gives up his height. Everyone turns there back on Pavlik because he lost to Hopkins. Wether he'd have taken it or not, Hopkins wouldn't have given a rematch to Pavlik. Sure he didn't deserve one, but did Williams really deserve one against Quintana. Can't wait for this. Can't wait to hear what all the Pavlik haters have to say after this one. It will be a ****ty week for Goosen Tutor Promotions. Arreola gets smashed quick. The Punisher gets punished.
Did Wiliams deserve a rematcvh with Quintanaana? HAHAHAHAHAHAAHA.
I don't know, maybe he did considering he blew him out in one round.
It's great to know that the fight is on. Both of them needed this fight; Pavliks carreer lost a lot of momentum after his loss and Pwill was unable to land good fights and also needed a reality check w a MW champion to see if can stop bouncin in weight and callin out everybody Or he can keep doin it(hopefully stay in MW and clear it). I think that Pwill have the tools to beat Pavlik by UD unless he gets caught with multiple hard shots. If Pavlik losses his career will be deadly hurt and If Pwill losses it'd just give him a reality check and stay in 154 maybe(he got the talent to get titles in differents divisions so he'll be ok. Pwill by UD
Earlier in the thread I was busting the Cotto fan's chops of how Paul Williams is going after the #1 ranked guy in a weight division. And that is yet something Cotto still needs to do. But the fighting smaller guys logic can be applied to Kelly Pavlik as well. He let Abraham outgrow the division without fighting him. But I'm not as hard on Pavlik about that as some posters are. Because HBO didn't put up a big dollar amount for that fight like they are doing with this one. I still wanted to see the fight though.
So you criticize Cotto for fighting a smaller man in Pac-Man, who challenged him by the way, but feel P-Will vs. Cotto is an even size match?? Stop being a Cotto hater. Just like you say there are no height limits, there are no weight limits after the weigh in. If Cotto can make welter, who cares what weight he comes in at on fight night. And P-Will is a nobody at 147. He beaten Margs and is 1-1 with Quintana. So how has he earned a shot at Cotto and he doesn't even want to face Clottey, who called him out BEFORE the Cotto fight?! GTFOH. Cotto is the creme of the crop at 147. He paid his dues. P-Will needs to do the same at 147 before he can start calling out the big dogs.
