I don't think that Cotto personally ducked him as much as Arum not wanting the fight, but to say there was no demand for it is not right. They were ranked #1 and #2 for a period of time. Hell, a Pavlik-Williams fight wasn't as much in demand as a Cotto-Williams fight while Abraham was in the division, but it's still happening because there's things about it that make it meaningful now. It's a battle between two top American fighters for one. And each guy has impressive victories that they can hang their hat on.Comment

The size difference wasn't as a big of a deal with Williams and Cotto as it is between Pacquiao and Cotto unless you want to take Paul's height into consideration. But as mentioned earlier in the thread, weight divisions are not prejudice against height. If you make the weight, you make the weight. Williams has to drop a lot of his natural weight to get down to 147, and people on here act like it's going to kill Cotto to drop just one pound.Comment

One interesting angle to this fight, is that if Williams wins I wouldn't be suprised to see Hopkins try to get a fight with him. But I'd rather see Williams drop back down to 154, because there is no use in taking a chance of losing to a 45-year old. The payday would be good, but why take the chance when there is other fights out there? Sure, Williams would have a chance against Hopkins, but it's not a fight that he needs to take. And Middleweight is a waste land right now. No need to stick around there.Comment
