I don't really have that high of an opinion of Pavlik's ring IQ either, but I can't envision this fight being a one-sided clinic of Williams just teeing off on him no matter how one-dimensional Pavlik may seem. I've heard your predictions for this fight, and they are valid ones. But one thing I wanted to ask you is do you think there is a good chance that Williams might suffer a bad cut in this fight from one of Pavlik's bombs? It happened against a 5"7 opponent in Verno Phillips even though the cut was caused by a head butt. I just think there's a good chance that Williams may suffer a cut in this fight due to that scar tissue over his eye, and that is something that a lot of these other people are not taking into consideration.

Paul Williams has a very good resistance to punches. Could be
a chance that Paul absorbs Kelly Pavlik punches and puts it on
him. I think people are over hyping Kelly Pavlik's power. All
Paul has to do is box Pavlik and he beats him easy. You see
how Paul fought Margarito? He stayed busy and away from
getting hit flush and when he did he weathered it & stayed
on his game. I can see Williams using the same strategy
but more seasoned considering that Pavlik is a better fighter
than Margarito but he's still one dimensional and that's how
Bhop was able to be him by turning him and creating angles.
That blue print right there will work for Paul now.

But when Williams suffered that cut above his eye he fought
like it wasn't even there. Pavlik is not going to get any
better but Williams is not even at his peak yet. Sure Kelly
has the goods to win this fight but only if Williams doesn't
fight his fight and gets into the ring on Pavlik terms.

Two of my favorite fighters. I know it's going to be great. Their styles are made to light up the night.

As long as no one gets seriously hurt this should be great.

That is one thing that I have to give credit to Williams for. Fighting through cuts unlike someone else we know. Cough Nate cough. But he was cut against the three best opponents he has fought besides Winky and he dodged bullets in those fights because they were not bad enough to stop the fight and the opponents didn't take advantage of it except what Quintana did in their first fight. Williams was cut over both eyes in that fight, and I don't know how much of a factor that played in his defeat. I just think that was Carlos' night, and Williams would've lost anyway. My overall point is that Williams cuts easily.

Alright this last part of the year wont disappoint boxing fans. Now we have 3 great fights on hand to close out 2009 1st)JMM vs Mayweather in September 2nd)Pavlik vs Williams in Oct... which will eventually lead us into the mega bout between 3rd)Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto

Like I've said before Paul Williams can outbox Pavlik to gain a Unanimous decision, but if Pavlik turns this into a fight/brawl and lands his straight right a couple of times....well that might mean night night for Pwill.
