At the end of the day all boxers age differently. You look at the likes of Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins and age really has had much of an effect on them.

truth is if roy wasnt so gun shy he wouldve put joe away. and if he could catch him in the first place even though his reflexes are completely shot and he is mad gun shy and barely throws. he couldve and wouldve don the same in his prime.

anybody who knows **** about boxing and isnt completely biased knows roy in his prime annhilates calzaghe.
The reason Jones didnt finish him in the first round is because he'd never had anyone throw back like that after he'd knocked them down. Prime or not.

Of course you're not biased. You compare Calzaghe to Glen Kelly. Completely rational.

I liked old Calzaghe with no punching power and an insane workrate. Very clever fighter, full stop. Who else does what Joe does to his level of success?

If a clash happened between Calzaghe that could punch and would go to war back when it was being suggested back in the day. I think RJJ would have taken him out possibly, he would have hurt Joe and Joe would have went to war and got put out. Course, Joe could have got him out of there too. Would have been entertaining. Far more entertaining than Joe taking the piss out of Roy for 33 minutes.

Let me see if I can get this straight. Big Roy was the cause of him "not winning" against Tarver the 3rd time but Big Roy is the reason he didn't win against Calzaghe?

I've followed RJJr for years and it was fascinating to watch him in his prime and now to see him in costumes and all, it's just sad to me.

He's a grown man and if he wants to continue to fight, that's his business. As a fan, I just don't want to see him get hurt. In my eyes, there's nothing he can do to tarnish his legacy. That being said, know your limits Roy.

Old Calzaghe is as good as he ever was.

Old Jones isn't. Simple as that.

Prime Roy walks over Calzaghe. Workrate wasn't enough to beat him back then.

No doubt, couldn't have said it better myself.

I agree, but when old and almost-shot Jones hurts him bad in rd. 1 and is competitive until he got cut, imagine what a prime Jones would have done.

That's all I'm saying and while I respect allot of Calzaghe fans, some of them are off their rocker.
