Trainers can do quite a bit for boxers these days, but they can't get in there with you and make you punch differently and tag the guy for you. That's what Roy would have needed.

Roy's now used his dad being in the corner as an excuse for losing, and now as an excuse for losing because he wasn't in the corner.
Maybe and I see your point but I dont think thats what it is. I think after all these years its him in a way that you and I couldnt understand of expressing thanks to his dad and that no one could have done what his dad could do. He already said in many interviews that he has no excuses and there is no excuses.

To add to that he's also promoting the "who cares" fight with Lacey. I see your points and a lot of fighters blame the trainers but I dont think this is the case.

that has to be the most ******ed sense of logic i ever heard. roy hurt him badly and simply cuz he didnt finish (he didnt even try) he could never stop calzaghe? u have to be one of the most biased posters in the history of boxingscene. completely dismisses any sense of logic or common sense.

truth is if roy wasnt so gun shy he wouldve put joe away. and if he could catch him in the first place even though his reflexes are completely shot and he is mad gun shy and barely throws. he couldve and wouldve don the same in his prime.

anybody who knows **** about boxing and isnt completely biased knows roy in his prime annhilates calzaghe.

Depending on what weight you are talking about.

I disagree with you saying that he would annihilate Joe. I think that the way to beat Calzaghe is to try and fight like Hopkins did against Calzaghe but obviously increase your own workrate/

calzaghe is sloppy, he only got away with it cuz he fought C level oposition and old men with shot reflexes. BHops reflexes were **** when he fought joe and he still tagged him at will. RJJ in his prime with speed and reflexes that were amongst the best in the history of the sport would have an easy time catching joe coming in all squared up throwing wide punches. if roy felt like playing he would clown joe like he did hall and kelly, if he ment buisness he would do him like the second griffin fight. calzaghe just isnt on his level.

Bhops reflexes were '****' when he fought Joe put tip top when he thought Pavlik.

Maybe there was a reason why Bhops reflexes didn't appear so great and that was because of the man opposite him in the ring.

The point you made about Roy in his prime is correct, his reflexs were some of the best/

false statement. joe was in his prime at 36 when he fought hopkins. late bloomer just like hopkins himself who was probably primed at like 38. so in other words he was about 6 years past his peak when he fought joe who was at his peak.

hopkins reflexes still werent impressive. its just that pavliks intentions are so obvious hopkins knew every move he was gon make before pavlik knew himself. with joe it was the same thing acctually, he hit joe at will too, and joe didnt lay a glove on him. if u watch the replays in slow motion u can see joe didnt land jack ****. he only started landing when hopkins faded bcuz of his age, but it was too little too late. or atleast it shouldve been.
