Why does the americans constantly fail to give the Klitscho's the props they deserve?

They are getting the same crap Larry Holmes got because they both (all) came after a great champion. For Holmes it was Ali. For the Klitscho's its 3 great fighters, Tyson, Holyfield, and Lewis. It has nothing to do with being Americans, its a human thing. But I do understand how it looks on these forums. Believe me, you guys look very biased to us as well at times.


You just described the Klitscho's as well. And Lewis avenged his two losses on his own, he didn't have a brother to do it for him.




Look how Vitaly reacted to that punch he took from Lewis at the end of that last round. He was holding on for dear life. Lewis was on his way to K.O.ing Vitaly, and I always suspected that's why the fight was stopped on a cut. They were giving him a chance because it was a title fight and Vitaly was doing good. As soon as it really started going bad for him, there was no need to allow him to continue.

I'm American and black. I give the Klits all the respect in the world. Even though Wlad has changed his style since he is with Steward he is a great fighter. Nobody is going to beat those boys anytime soon. Vitali is a beast and mean.

I dare to say, had they been slick loud mouthed black fighters they would have been considered top 5 ATG heavyweights. The americans always underrate the Klitscho's. Lewis was a boring guy who used his jab and long reach yet he is considered top 10 ATG HW. Had it not been for that bull**** cut Vitali would have exposed him.

What is your thoughts on this matter?

I think you will find that Americans were generally cheering for Vitali,and applauded him after the Lewis fight even though he lost.After that fight,a lot of Americans wanted to see him fight,and the opposition in the HW division was weakened with the retirement of Lewis,so that,combined with all the fights being canceled due to Vitali's injuries lost him the attention he could have gotten in the American media.
I know a lot of people (esp. Europeans) think Americans do not respect their fighters or any other foreign fighter,but for the record, look at all the attention that is given to Mexican,Cuban,and PR fighters in the states-you will find they are well received.I know in America, Tomasz Adamek, Pacquiao, Gamboa, Juan Manuel Marquez, and a slew of other boxers from other countries are very well received,yet are not American,so the theory that unless you are American you are nothing attitude,doesn't exist as much as some people would like you to believe...In actuality, true boxing fans recognize talent and if you show your heart in the ring,you will be appreciated no matter where you come from...

I would love to see what the Klitschkos are fully capable of, but they don't have the competition to show it. The heavyweight division sucks, and they are the best of it. No one denies that.
