I respect Wlad as a fighter, he goes in there and does what he has to do to win. However, that doesn't change the fact he can be extremely boring in doing so. The guy has devastating one punch KO power but insists on the one two jab straight combo to win every single fight.

Vitali on the other hand fights every single second of every round and pounces on hurt opponents. That's why most American fight fans love Vitali and ignore Wlad for the most part in my opinion.

Brewster clearly landed a left hook after the bell. Sanders clearly (look at my sig) knocked down Wlad with a headbutt (the first knockdown) and the major cut that Vitali received in the Lewis fight was started by a punch, but was aggravated by a headbutt. But it's very common to see this smart fighting even among american boxers. You call this ''the sweet science'' to me the sweet science is to hit the other guy without him being able to hit you. Or to knock him out. Mayweather, Pernell, DLH, Hopkins are all fighters who can/could master this and they get props. This is double standard.

The best fighter is not the one who talk the loudest. and technical good fighters don't have to show they have heart because they outsmart the other guy. Wlad is a very good example of this.

What does Wlad have to do to prove that he's not the same fighter that lost to Sanders and Brewster? Like any great fighter Wlad learned from both losses and has now been dominant for 5 years now while winning his rematch with Brewster.

Wlad has lost 3 times, twice (Purrity, Brewster) because he just punched himself out while dominating and once (Sanders) because he lacked defense and underrated his opponent at that time. Then Wlad hired and listened to Manny and now uses his tremendous jab and right hand to dominate while also pacing himself and not leaving himself open to get caught again.

FTR: Wlad was just as hated on every board just as badly as he is now for being "boring" even when he was an "exciting" brawling fighter. People just want him to brawl because they're mostly haters and that's the only chance they'll have to see Wlad lose again any time soon...
