any body else think that pacs "former 108lb'er" tagline is overrated?

in the states you cant turn pro til your 18, unlike the phillipines. and although mayweather didnt grow up rich, he wasnt dirt poor. if you look at pacs early career, he was fighting like 10 times a year because of the need for food. what else was he going to do to survive in a poor country. but mayweather was living in the united states of america.

it adds to his greatness. tell me another fighter that has won a title from 118 to 140 and possibly 147.

Most fighters are that light when they are at that age im sure jmm and floyd were around that weight. I remember cotto saying he fought calderon as a amt
                  Boom right there.

And you are correct Calderon beat Cotto at 100 pounds division(minimum weight for Ama's)

Miguel was young and undeveloped. I dont understand this logic. He was also alot smaller in the 90's than he is today, and likely less seasoned. P4P Calderon is a superior boxer to Cotto, losing to him has no shame to it at all.
