I do think people are too hard on Floyd in regards to the potential rivalries with Cotto and Pacquiao. He is going on record and saying that he would whip both of these guys. That tells me that the fights not happening isn't all his fault. Grustler mentioned earlier that Cotto keeps Floyd's name out of his mouth. Combine that with the fact that Arum has never had any intention of letting Cotto get in the ring with Floyd tells you all you need to know.

The Pacquiao situation is a little bit different, because the fight has only been realistic for less than a year. I think if that fight were to fall apart, it would be due to egos and self value. Both guys would be to blame. It is partly Cotto's fault that a fight with Mayweather didn't happen not just at 140, but at 147 too. Because after Cotto beat Mosley, Arum said that he wanted to keep Cotto out of the ring with Floyd because he didn't want to deal with a businessman.

Cotto was at that Gatti fight (R.I.P.) When Floyd beat him AND Cotto

**** talking is OK when it has entertainment value its just that Mayweather isnt good at or at least the things he says dont seem genuine or relavent many times. I mean Mayorga made a career out of **** talking and guys like Duran used t as a means of intimidation. Mayweather just seems to lack the finesse to do it well so he should stop or work harder at being creative.

Call it what you want to but you know that Mayweather is a pick and choose purse snatcher. He looks for the easy money , most of the times, and even admits his opportunistic ways. If he continues to duck Cotto or Mosley you're probably right that he aint scared but he is definitely calculating the fact that his paycheck will likely get earned the hard way on those nights, win or lose and he just isnt that type of fighter.

When Mayweather accepted a 2nd fight with De La Hoya instead of accepting the challenges from Cotto, Margarito (whom he promised, face-to-face, that he would fight), Williams, Mosley, and others who were among the top in the WW division, his excuse to ESPN was, "Come on now," and then he proceeded to make a money signal with his hand.

He cares about money. Not legacy. He doesn't want to earn his pay by getting in a war. He's not trying to do good for the sport or the fans. Only for his wallet so he can continue spending like a moron.

He makes "his people" look bad. Segregation only exists among the groups who choose to segregate themselves.

Cotto and Pacquaio already own better legacies than Floyd Mayweather, because they elect to fight the best, whenever, wherever, and they always take on the best from their own weight divisions. Mayweather cherry-picks the weakest alphabet title holders and fringe-contenders from all over the place and pretends the "0" in his loss column means something.

Fight these guys. Then fight Mosley. If you can beat all three of them, or even if you lose one, but then win a rematch (or a trilogy - practically an unheard of concept anymore), then you can claim to be the best.

Until that time, just run your ******, illiterate mouth Mr. Floyd "I have no more money" Mayweather.

I think Floyd needs a little guidance in the area of **** talking 101. He kinda gets all spoofy like he's some character on RAW. It just doesnt translate well into boxing and he ends up coming off as just a guy know one likes or cares to hear from or about.

The man stays focus on one fight at a time.On the Clottey fight the media were throwing pac's name to him like he had already thrashed clottey.We all know how ****** one would feel over looking another boxer becuz you wanna pay attention to a dream fight.It just doesnt go like that with miguel.




Why hype a fight between floyd with talk exchange when it hasnt even been signed between them?? Doesnt make sense to me,doesnt make sense to miguel,doesnt make sense to the boxing community nor media.



Cotto currently isn't gettin paid millions to have the time of day to trash talk with floyd,he's getting paid to do it with pac right now.







When cotto was at the gatti/floyd fight i thought to myself that he was too green CURRENTLY AT THAT TIME ALSO.That i agree with you.But cotto was NOT floyd's opponent after that fight.Floyd fought oscar and hatton.After hatton,COTTO was pretty much his NEXT opponent.Undefeated,fresh and building up resume.Thats what the main boxing public's eye was on.Cotto vs Floyd in early 2008.





Apparently that didnt happent,but maybe it will this year.May the best win.
