Kessler > Lacy but still not a great fighter. The only great fighters Joe beat were really Jones and Hopkins, both past their primes. Toney beat the prime Jones and has accomplished more in higher weights. Again, this has been done to death Toney > Joe.

        Its close.

On one hand we have Toney, a fat slob who got schooled a bunc of times and on the other we have calzaghe, who never lost and dominated his division for a decade.

But that said, toney is american so its too close to call

          This is a no brainer.

          Joe Calzaghe is obviously better.

The faster, more adaptable Calzaghe would have defeated several people Toney lost to: Griffin x 2, Tiberi (who defeated Toney but was robbed), and perhaps Thadzi too.

Joe would certainly have beaten Sanderline Williams (who lost five of six fights and then had a draw with Toney!), and may have beaten McCallum as well.

Calzaghe > Toney, without a doubt.

how do you dominate your division for ten years if you refuse to fight the other champs for the first 8 years and you refuse to fight the number one supermiddle(sven ottke)

then again he did beat the great american Jeff "mike tyson" lacy
