Toney would beat him up in the pocket.

Has nothing to do with race, most whites don't like Calzaghe. It has everything to do with resume and what you did in the ring. Toney was a better fighter.

Honestly not sure. Toney fought more people but he wasn't always consistent. Calzaghe on the other hand has beaten everyone he has faced but didn't face a real opponent until Lacy. Even though lacy was overrated but people said he would ko calzaghe

Then can you imagine him whooping Barkely and then years later coming back from nowhere to make a run through Cruiserweight, take out a prime beast in Jirov, and then go up to HW and become a legit contender, and win a title (forget the steroid bull****, it was taken for an injury and toney would have beaten Ruiz's ass with one hand behind his back anyway)

No, Joe fought a past it Eubank for his first title. Made defences vs nobodies, solid pros but not the type of guys you fight to create a legacy. Then he beats an overrated lacy, beats Kessler who has fought no one besides a one dimensonal slugger in andrade and that joke Mundine, escapes with a thin decision vs a 43 year old Hopkins who would have won had he had the energy to mount a sustained offence, and then blitzes a shot Roy

Joe was talented and is a good fighter, but he took a ****** career path and doesnt deserve to be comapred to a guy like toney who put his balls on the line in every fight

You are a muppet, American fighters have never wanted anything to do with the british smw's since Jones ducked Benn after seeing him destroy Mclellan, and its been like that evere since.

Benn, Eubank and Calzaghe were all ducked by your americans, the only ones who fought were Mclellan who got beaten into being disabled, and Lacy who has never been the same mentally since calzaghe ****d him on international tv.

YOu cant blame joe that your guys were too scared to fight him.

Im an australian, so i have no bias here. I'm just telling the truth. If the best fighters were in Britain then i would say so. But as it is the biggest fights and best fighters are generally in North America/Mexico. If you want to be the best you need to fight in America and beat the best. And no, beating a 40 year old RJJ who had been KTFO twice is not beating the best.

Similar basic style matchup (counter puncher vs volume puncher), but when you go into detail Jirov is a better technical fighter than joe, and has a much better body attack. Calzaghe also would not eat as many shots as Jirov ate without getting stopped. Toney beats Joe by late stoppage.

What are you on?? Most whites don't like Calzaghe, which whites? If you mean American ones, youre right. But thankfully there are plenty others who do like him.

I agree with this. Joe is not really a body snatcher and Jirov is probably the only boxer I've seen that throws more combos to the body than to the head. Jirov's body-work was what gave him some success against Toney.
