seriously, what difference does 2 lbs make?! Do heavyweights complain of their opponents being 70 lbs over their weight?! This catchweight bull**** is unfair. If Pacquiao does beat Cotto, I will never consider him to be a welterweight champion because he made Cotto lost those 2 lbs. We all know Cotto usually comes in at 147. People Don't Understand

Well it seems there are a lot of hard-headed people who just don't seem to understand why Miguel Cotto does not want to put his belt on the line. For your numb nuts who only see things from one point of view and never bother to look at the opposite point of view, let me assist you, and I will go slow so you all can understand.

1. It's about principles. Manny and Cotto had an agreement that the fight would be at 145 lbs with no title shot. It was Manny's crew who decided they wanted Pacman to have a title shot at the last minute. Cotto let him have a 65-35 split. He is even letting Pacman call most of the shots, since he is the bigger draw right now, but Cotto does not have to bend over and let everyone screw him just because he is fighting Pacquiao. If Pacquiao wants the title, let him come up to 147. Since when should the champion succumb to every single wish of a challenger? Shouldn't a challenger fight a champion on his terms and beat him there? If you can't come up to challenge the champion, don't bother challenging him at all. Remember, Cotto did not ask for this fight, he wanted time off.

2. It has nothing to do with fear. For the morons who say Cotto is scared, you all need to get slapped back into reality. Why in the hell would Cotto be scared of Pacquiao, when he's already had 2 grueling fights with Margarito and Clottey? You think Pacquiao could go 12 rounds with Clottey? If you say yes, you are smoking some tainted crack. Clottey would pound Pacquiao into oblivion.

3. Money means nothing. That's right. For everyone who keeps complaining that this would be Cotto's biggest payday, newsflash for you: HE DOESN'T CARE. Cotto has money. He's not broke. If Cotto cared so much about paydays, he would have pushed for a fight with Mayweather or De La Hoya a long time ago. But, in his own words, he only fights who is put in front of him, and he has always fought the best. Yes, he has fought a few bums (Gomez, Jennings). but who hasn't? Look at who he has faced so far: Judah, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey. Those are some big names. I'm not taking anything from Pacquiao, I love watching him fight. But Miguel is not fighting for money. If he was, he would have been asking for more than a 65-35 split. His name is Miguel Cotto. His name is NOT Floyd "I need other big name stars to make my Money" Mayweather.

personally I think the diamond belt is a joke,catchweights are a joke,& that's all we need...another belt.I like both cotto & pacman equally but if they want the wbo title on the line it should be at 147 or it shouldn't be a title fight.2 pounds could bf tougher to lose for cotto than people think.pacman is getting 2/3 of the purse & I think he's kind of being a jerkoff with his catchweight demands.be a man pacman!
