A master cherry picker
When people thought of him as great on his run from MW to HW, he never even beat a linear champion (top champ in the division) and he never once defended against his top rated contender. Roy is the ultimate paper champion, he is a fraud of the highest order.
At MW: Won a vacant strap against Bernard Hopkins. Made a couple of defences against nobodys then moved up when G-Man was a clear #1 contender to him.
At SMW: Fought a dead at the weight James Toney (Liles was the linear champ at the time) and won. Fought cops and postmen instead of fighting Eubank, Benn and Liles.
At LHW: Won a vacant title against Griffin (at the second time of asking) then went on to duck DM for a whole 5 years.
At HW: Fought Ruiz who wasn't even top 3 for a Don King manufactured strap, Got called out by Lewis then ran away back to 175.
The first time Roy fought a #1 contender was Antonio Tarver after moving down from HW and the only reason he took that fight was because Lewis called him out.
Check mate.

Dariusz Michalczewski - WBO 175 champ for a whole 9 years, 1994 - 2003

Frankie Liles - WBA 168 champ, 1994 - 1999
Steve Collins - WBO 168 champ, 1995 - 1997(Called Roy out numerous times in the press, always ignored by Roy.
While Roy ducked FOUR of these fighters at 168,lets take a look at who he actually fought
James Toney (weight-drained beyond belief)
Antoine Byrd (who?)
Vinny Pazienza (blown up lightweight)
Tony Thornton(LMAO)
Eric Lucas(LOL)
Bryant Brannon(who?)
thats a duck list fraud jr would be proud of.

if he really wanted to be a real heavyweight champ he would have fought lennox lewis not john ruiz. lennox was more than game.
thats a duck list fraud jr would be proud of.
Everyone knows Roy is a great talent with fantastic skills,BUT even HBO were vocal on the bums he was fightinghow embarrassing.
He won ****ty NBA,WBF titles and fought against 100-1 shot mandos who had absolutely NO CHANCE in winning.
As soon as he stepped up in class he got KTFO!!!!!!!

The guys 'best' wins have come against fighters tailor made for himself or against fighters outside there best weight category. Every elite fighter AT there best weight that he has fought, have beaten him, close and disputed or not, he has never done enough to win.
Over the years he has collected losses against Clinton Mitchell (which can be excused), Roy Jones Jr, Jermain Taylor twice, and Joe Calzaghe.
Now whilst losses against these fighters is not disgraceful, the man is still placed above them by many fans, in particular Calzaghe and Roy Jones? How can this be? He lost against the two fighters who are always being compared against him, as to who the best fighter between 160-175 of this generation has been. By process of elimination, Hopkins is clearly below both due to the fact he lost to them. No ifs or buts, his name is on Jones' and Calzaghes resume therefore is below them. Also before we get the Nard nuthuggers coming in saying he didnt actually lose to Joe. Guess what, he did, he started feigning low blows and couldn't keep up with the pace, and lost a close but clear decision.
Now, onto his wins. On paper he has some very good names on his resume, but the majority of these are just that, decent on paper.
His two biggest wins came against blown up welterweights in DLH and Tito, and anyone with half a brain knew they would lose. Tito may have destroyed Joppy, but the guy was not elite at 160, he was elite at 147. Same goes for De La Hoya, despite the fact it was fought at a catchweight of 156, he still had no business being in the ring with Hopkins, the naturally much bigger man.
Kelly Pavlik and Winky Wright. With all due respect are very good fighters, but both fought outside of there best weights, and to add to this, Pavlik was sick/ill. Winky, a blown up junior middleweight fighting against Hopkins at very near on Light Heavyweight, a fat puffed up version of the man who dominated light middleweight. Pavlik to add to this, was always overhyped, and is a come forward slugger, someone who's style is tailor made for Hopkins.
Glen Johnson and Tarver, two RIDICULOUSLY overrated fighters. Johnson is a come forward slugger, and was embarassed by Hopkins. Tarver has just never been much good.
And that's it.
Now this isn't to bash on the abilities and skills of Hopkins, as the man is a very good fighter, however, his resume does not put him Calzaghe.
You talk **** about Bernards resume then you have nothing but Klitschko **** on your page. His resume is pathetic so fuc'k off already

This **** was hilarious.
Seriously, you are ******ed.
On topic - you can pick apart anyone's resume if you want to. Hopkins has a very good one, one of the best in the game. Sure some guys he fought were fighting above their best weight but those victories still represent wins over very good fighters. The Trinidad victory especially Bernard deserves credit for. Tito wasn't like Oscar. Oscar clearly wasn't a 160 pounder whilst Tito looked like a beast at MW prior to the Bernard fight.
