Wait, hasn't there been quite a few title fights at catchweight? (e.g, Pernell Whitaker vs. Julio Cesar Chavez at 145 ) The idea of it shouldn't be a problem--the writer seems to be targeting SPECIFICALLY Pacquiao-Cotto for some unknown reason not unless he's making an argument for the WHOLE catchweight issue. Look, even the great Henry Armstrong fought in a catchweight bout. The biggest hurdle is that Cotto didn't sign off on his title being on the line. That's all.

Manny fans have selective memory. If I am not mistaken, the first Marquez was a draw, and essentially a win for Marquez because Marquez went down 3 times in one round and essentially shutout Manny the rest of the fight.

The 2nd fight, was close and could have gone either way.

Ummm.....he lost to Morales and then beat a washed-up Morales. When Manny fights legitimate fights, then I will have respect for him.

He wins one fight in the 140 lb division and all of the sudden he is the best fighter in that division? Sorry, but I don't think so.

Eventhough I'm a pacfan i think the fight should be at 147 limit... It would not be a good idea if it is at 145 catchweight... I agree with the author, it is more legitimate if the fight take place at the WW max limit... Besides many hater and doubter will surely have a tons of excuses if pac wins this fight...
