Miguel Cotto-Manny Pacquiao: It’s Not All Good

You are not making any intelligent points or contributions here at all. You think you said anything new? Not at all. Cotto never talked about or thought about fighting at 140. He left that division years ago. Pacass is the one who wants to fight welters anywhere but at the welter limit of 147. Weightdraining people is an art to him.
Get that through your peahead and, get your head out of Pac's asscave, so you might hear. Damn, things people say and think they've made such a great point. I am poor for reading your post. Be great if Cotto detached Pac's head.
Let’s be real because here. The fact is, Cotto wants this fight as much as Pacquiao does. It wouldn’t be fair to ask Cotto to come down to 140, a division in which Pacquiao recently disposed the reigning king which was Ricky Hatton, so why ask the Pacman to lay it all on the line, alone?
Cotto would be closer to the contracted limit of 145 than Pacquiao is. Had Cotto been campaigning at 154 and was asked to shoot down to 145, then that would be a different argument altogether.
This is a fair fight, with or without the belt...Comment

getting plastered to his knees after winnnig most of the fight...and go score the clottey fight round by round and you cant all it a gift(excluding the 1 judge)
Mayweather would bring a boring figth taht is more attractive on paper tan anything else..and he needs 2 win something before coming back and stealing it it from the guys who actually fight tough fighters...used to love Mayweather but his antics got to me in a bad way and he needs 2 prove himself again by stepping in the fire with the real fighters
P.S. plaster or not(it wasn't proven anyways) We all know Cotto gave it his all and most fighters would be out in round 1 taking shots like that from Margarito. Let's see how Margarito fights after the exposure, would his punching power still be there?Comment

You made it look like it was all Pacman who wanted this fight, which isn't the case. We all knew that Bob Arum dangled a "Pacquiao" fight to Cotto, which translates into a lot coins, for him (Cotto) to re-sign with Top Rank again. Arum made sure Pacquiao will be present at the Cotto/Clottey fight, so he can work his magic on Pacquiao. Pacquiao agreed, Cotto's camp agreed to a catchweight, and the rest is history. The only snag was the belt, which Bob Arum took for granted. He didn't expect the Pacquiao fans to make a big issue out of this, which was for good reason. There will be hstory in the making, IF, and that's a big if.

Yes the fight is fair with out the belt, with the belt the fight will be fair just how the WBO recognize championship fights regulations stipulate, UP TO 147 not up to 145.They just anounce on another thread that Mosey-Berto is under negotiations again and they would probably unify there titles.
Can you imagine if Pacquaio gets the title at a fight up to 145 (not 147) against Cotto and fights Mosley (if he beats Berto) to unify all 3 titles at 142 (not 147), something that Mosley already accepted he would do. That will give a probability that we would have a unified "super 142 lbs champion" at Welterweight. Now that is ******!!!
Not only that i can see him defending his WW belts by demanding his challengers to come down to 144 or less to fight him.
I have nothing against Pacquiao, he is a great warrior, but these demands that all started with Varcarcel and his sole interest of cashing in on a fight by not going by his own regulations will hurt boxing.
I know it has happen before, per agreement between the boxers i might add, but this is the first time that this will be looked like a mandatory challenge of a belt that represents one weight class but will not be fought under that weight class stipulations.Comment

Yes I'm sure. Floyd doesn't dehydrate and rehydrate like most boxers do, his weigh-in weight is usually about the same as his fight-night weight. Mayweather's fight night weight was released by HBO, Oscar's wasn't. Floyd weighed 148 on fight night, Oscar probably weighed around 160. As I said, google is your friend.Comment

Pacquiao is not laying it all o the line, He got the catchweight and he will get the biggest, by far, % of the purse. He was the one who also requested the size of the gloves (8oz). All of that was agreed to by both fighters and then camme the belt issue.

Manny came in at 143 against DLH and 138 against Hatton on weigh in.
He came in at 148 on fight night on both fights. Just to let you know.
You see, he is barely a lightweight. he cant come in at fight night more than 148 b.c that's the limit of his fighting weight. Most of the time, fighters including Manny and Cotto would add 10-12 lbs after weigh in. Manny was doing that in lower weights but cannot do it this time b.c of his bodies limitComment
