prior to Verno Phillips.

he started his career at Jr middle or above and various other fights after that mixed in during his welterweight reign..and the fight before Philips he fought Andy Kolle above welter

i consider Quintana to be a at least a top 5 WW because he did dominate Williams the entire first fight. unfortunately he lost all respect for that becuse he came in careless in the next fight and forgot about the game plan that won him the first 1. and before that he won 3 or maybe 4 rounds against Cotto before he caved after all the body work Cotto was putting in.

He has great boxing skill with decent power and but he is a little weak when it comes to taking damage(swells fast and ?? chin) I rank him above Berto because Berto is still a very incomplete fighter. Quintanas main drawback is that he is getting old and been to inactive after the 2nd williams fight which he shoould have been given a rubber match forsince he gave it to williams afte the first fight

Alright, I'll admit that you got it in terms of backing
up your claim that Williams fought at JR Mid/Mid.
But it still doesn't take away from the fact that
Williams didn't get his due from a lot of Boxing
fans for beating Phillips AND this match up is being
considered a good fight for Quintana AFTER Williams
stopped him. My thing is will Quintana get props for
beating this guy that Williams didn't get prior? That's
where this whole argument started from.

Aout your claims, is not like Quintana well be named the number 1 JMW or anything for beating verno, but hes comming form alot of injuries and a long layoff and this will be his second fight or so(Idont really know) at 154, Williams is regarded as a way better fighter than Phillips and comming from a revege 1rst round KO, he looked impresive and fighting a old man plus a guy who he is suppose better than, wont give him much credit in that particular situation.

Its all about the circumstances and the timming of who and when you fight
