BoxingScene.com was informed that former champions Carlos Quintana (26-2, 20KOs) and Verno Phillips (42-11, 21KOs) may clash in a junior middleweight bout on September 17 with Versus televising. Tough fight for both. Quintana has been inactive since last October due to illness and injuries. Phillips has not fought since last November's TKO loss to Paul Williams.

I like this fight for El Indio... but if he loses to this mummy he should retire. Should be a UD at least to make a good impression and start making his way back to a world title.

Very good fight, two underrated fighters. Quintana is a top fighter who could probably beat Berto at 147 while Verno is a very good fighter in his own right too and being bigger than Quintana will give him a tough test. Quintana UD 117-111.
