Klitschkos dont need to do that because no fans are more supportive than people in Europe. Most guys like Tyson, Floyd and B-hop realize they will never be accepted as good guys so they say F-ck it let me play the bad boy role.

Also I never said it was right (as mentioned in my post). With media in america certain roles sell. As ****ed up as it is to say, blacks are the worst race as far as supporting our athletes. Most of the people who buy tickets to these events and PPV are Middle americans (whites) and Upper class whites. In America certain things sell and nothing sells like the Uncontrollable Negro that terrorizes whites and needs to be put in place. I know its hard to believe but these stereotypes were delibrately created by whites during the Minstrel show era (Reason behind almost every stereotypes about blacks). Whites would delibrately paint there face black, dress up in african american attire and performe roles of blacks that would harrass white women, be violate, talk trash and be out of line. During the 1900's and beyond this became so popular amongst whites that they made tons of money off this. This was actually americans first form of entertainment. With that said certian boxers take on these roles because they know people (White americans who are the biggest source of sells) will buy into this. Again I'm not saying this is wrong or right but it sells.

Good post. Hopkins made the "white boy" comment knowing it would still up these kind of feelings and people LOVED it since it gave them an excuse to bring out their own racism. It doesn't matter how many times you explain to someone that it was said for promotion (not that I others agree with the comment), they don't want to accept it because they want to hate. Then they see people being supportive of black athletes in these instances and feel justified in supporting white athletes because they think it's the same even though their doing to it promote racism instead of defending against it.

yep, they are almost always african-americans. and they like to think they grew up so rough and was gangsters. but i tell you this. they are wanna-be gangstas. put them in african, asian and even russian ******s and they would not last a day, american ******s aint **** compared to ******s in those places.

i bet guys like manny pacquiao has had it way way thougher growing up than guys like mike tyson, b-hop, jones jr. yet do we see manny pacquio going around talking how gangsta he is? No, he dont talk about it because he is not some ignorant ****** ****** american. thats why.

A lot of blacks from impoverish areas feel that sports may be there way out or all they got. So if it is something that you are really good at, and feel without it you are nothing, you live and die by your success. That's why we dont like to admit defeat. I mean say if you played chess all your life and thats all you know. You were able to feed your family with money your earned, and everyone you know when you were growing up praise you for your ability. If someone comes along and beats you, more than likely, you will have a hard time accepting that. It's not a race thing, just human nature to act like that. Now with blacks, incase anyone didn't know, in the hood nobody takes sports as serious as we do....atleast from what I have seen.

I have to agree...

I think it has more to do with cultural differences. Black people for the most part are very flamboyant and love to showboat. I'm making generalizations of course but for the most part I can say that is the truth.

It's funny because there were these prom kids in this local school here in Miami and I guess we were driving through the same Hotel they were throwing their prom at and it was funny to see the difference in the way the white kids were dressed and the way the black kids were dressed.

I think black people culturally are just more at ease with showing off and talking a good game. I don't see anything wrong with it personally because I think Black Americans have brought so much culturally to this country.

Imagine life without black people in America? No jazz, blues, R&B, Rock and Roll, Hip Hop etc.....

They're "flamboyant" style has made for a lot of great music, style, acting, comedy etc. I just take it as a cultural thing and nothing more.

Correction: Black fighters get more attention and criticism for talking crap. Plenty of fighters and people in general talk crap and it has nothing to do with race. Joe Calzaghe, Carl Froch and Vic Darchinyan talk as much crap as any black fighter. Freddie Roach talks as much crap as Floyd Mayweather Sr. But some (not all) of you here have no problem with it. But if a black fighter does that he gets 100's of hate threads. Case in point: Nate Campbell and Floyd Mayweather jr. Take that how you want to. But this thread is racist in spite of the ridiculous "no racism" headline.
