If Palle really bothered about Kessler, why did he allow this fighter to stay inactive for almost 2 years now?

I agree that Kessler is a relatively new name in the mind of the average Dane and I personally have not heard about him for more than 4-5 years or so ago. Denmark have had very few significant boxes the past 30 years; "Old" Hansen, Bredahl brothers and the enigmatic Brian Nielsen comes to mind, and Kessler definitely had some "international" potential too after some years where the biggest talents semed to be in the featherweight and slightly above classes . Anyway, you guys, excluding PunchDrunk, seem to skate happily over a simple fact of life: a promotor is a businessman - he invest in boxers and not for the sake of their blue eyes. A boxer signs a contract which stipulates e.g. how many fights he will deliver under the promotors au****ies and for that he will receive a monthly pay and purse when he fights. If Mogens Palle can show a contract signed by Kessler where the latter had agreed to fight a couple of more times under Palle, but refuses to do so without just cause and continue to fight under another promotor, then it is really a simple matter, involving legal actions as a natural consequence. End of story. Personally I do not appreciate the mentality exhibited by Kessler, a guy which apparently believe it is allright to break a contract and skip the country which have supported his education and other needs for decades to avoid paying a dime in tax. In the end he will of course return, as all tax-refugees evemtually do, to enjoy the benefits of Danish retirement homes and free hospitals paid by more loyal citizens.

Don't fall for Palle's mudslinging regarding Kessler's residence. Lot's of danish sportspeople has done and does exactly what Kessler does and that issue has nothing to do with the matter at hand. Palle just slings dirt on the fighter. Remember that they are making a life income in a short timeframe and the danish taxation system taxes more the higher the earning.

Kessler's statement is that Palle didn't live up to the contract and provide the fights.
As manager B.Palle was in a position to negotiate her salary with herself, not looking after Kesslers interests like she was supposed to.
Kessler has a great case, and team Sauerland must agree since they signed him.
Every Dane with success in sports leaves the country. The latest "sportsman of the year" award in Denmark has all gone to Monaco residents. (Wozniacki, Tom.K, Kessler). Paying Danish tax doesn’t justify Team.P ripping Kessler off. Besides he generates more cash flow in Denmark than just the taxes.Last edited by Peder; 08-04-2009, 05:07 AM.

As a matter of fact, I'm most certainly not Mogens palle Hahahaha!! I have always disliked that little proletarian and I have - thanks Yamahut - never had the dubious pleasure of meeting him in other ways than the few times his appearence has distorted my television. However, as I see it, the olf fox Palle of course must have a contract which he believe has been violated, and if I were in his shoes, I would certainly present the matter for the proper authorities so they can judge whether Kessler should be free from it or not. Addressing the issue of taxes, then it is of course not illegal to skip country and settle somewhere else in a more low-taxed society just as you are about to receive a huge amount, otherwise subjectable to income tax. I just maintain my personal opinion that it is an asocial and immoral act which tells a lot about Kessler personally and if I do so eventually (which I will not exclude a priori)....note the worthings - do you really believe Palle is capable of such formulations?...I would not kid myself into the belief that it's quite allright just because the other ..types.. do the same.

I'm sorry, Palle may be a poor promoter, but Kessler wasn't forced to sign with him. If Palle did infact have 2 more options of Kessler then he should sue Kessler, Sauerland, and Showtime to high heaven.
If you sign a contract you should honour it, no matter how poor your promoter is.

Palle is a very frail old man is he not?
This could likely go on and on for a few years.
My only fear is that an injuction is sought to stop Kessler fighting until the contract scenario is resolved.
Saulerland have deep pockets and prob dont care anyway !

You know what's annoying? He says that Kessler was made a start and that he cares so much blah blah blah, typcial promoter talk. Makes me sick...
Anyway, he had the biggest Dane boxing star in how long? Ever? Well, during the peak of his run and after Calzzaghe, he led Kessler into ruin by letting him do nothing. From my understanding that was Palles fault, not Kessler's. He wanted to fight but all this contract ****e kept him from getting big names.
Honestly, if he was such a good guy he would just let him fight the big fights and have gotten on with things. As it is Kessler has gone to ****e and no one remembers him anyway but the hardcore boxing fans. Palle ****ed his career up.
The other thing is that no promoter should ever ***** about their greatest fighter monetary stuff and how he has earned etc etc because he will always have earned more than the fighter and if he pretends he's being put out by it all, well that is one big fat, ****ing lying, piece of BS. I feel revolted by promoters who actually have the gall to write a letter to fans complaining of money. They are only there to **** the fighter over and steal hard earned money from them for sitting in the background ****ing people over. Like he has hasn't earned more than Kessler has! ****** ****. I'm pissed off! As if you can't tell.
