I'd say that Duran would win by points, outworking Mayweather for the majority of rounds but missing most of the punches.

Mayweather's sharp-shooting would be too few and far between to make an impact on Duran's workrate in my opinion.

-Duran was notorious for his bad health habits late in his career and ballooned to 203 he says after the first fight. Leonard himself said he knew this and did everything he could to get the fight done very soon after the first.
-The Duran that beat Leonard the first fight was as possessed and amazing as he could possibly be and would laugh at Floyd's attempts to run while crushing his ribs in.
-Floyd is not even close to what Sugar Ray Leonard was, especially at that time at welterweight. I am a Leonard hater and I admit the man was near unstoppable.
-Floyd is a small welterweight and would not have the athletic advantages Leonard did over Duran.

Seriously, Duran obliterates Floyd. There is nothing he does Hands of Stone has not seen others do much better.

So in other words "DURAN IS DA BEST.DID U SEE IM AGAINST SUGAR RAY LEONARD? THAT DURAN WOULD KILL ENYONE.THE ONLY TIMES DURAN LOST WAS WHEN HE HAD AIDS AND CANCER,SO TEKINALLY HE NEVAR LOST a FITE"

I always believed a fighter that could take Floyd's shots, keeping him on the backfoot for 12 rounds... had a chance of beating him
Fighters like Cotto and Mosley would cause him problems, more so than somebody with less boxing ability like Margarito who Floyd would pick apart

Duran would have much more chance of winning than Cotto or Mosley, I could see Floyd frustrating him in the first half of the fight, but getting into more and more trouble as the fight went on

        Duran by Late Stoppage.

You seen what Mayweather did to castillo in the rematch? Yeah.

Did you see what a journeyman in Kirkland Laing did to roberto Duran? Yeah.

Did I say ANYTHING like that? Duran was embarrassed in the second fight against Leonard, embarrassed in the third fight between the two, knocked cold against Hearns, and beaten by DeJesus.

The Duran that beat Leonard that night was not unbeatable, but Floyd isn't good enough to beat him. This is a case of severely overrating Floyd.

And Duran is one of the best, his only loss in his prime was to DeJesus which he proceeded to avenge twice. Duran is considered by most experts a top 10 if not top 5 fighter all time.

Don't compare Floyd to ATG fighters, he isn't on that level.

I said Duran would win. But I dont think it would be a ko

How far removed from his prime was he when he got schooled by journeyman Kirkland Laing?

I'd certainly say he was above journeyman Kirland Laing's level

About 5 years and 20 pounds past his prime. That fight was at 154 while Duran was at a very low point in his career.
