Why doesn't Guillermo Jones need to defend his title?

In September 2008, Guillermo Jones won the WBA cruiserweight title. It is now Aug 2009, nearly a year later, and not only has he not defended the title, he doesn't have anything scheduled.

Do Don King fighters with WBA titles have a longer time before they have to face a mandatory?

It seems Don King fighters, even his world titleholders, are often inactive for long periods of time. Does King expect Jones to be as sharp after a year without fighting or preparing for a fight?

I want to see Jones try to unify.
    Screw the WBA

Jones-Adamek is a way better fight anyways.

I'd LOVE to see that fight...

But it seems Don King wants to keep his fighters inactive.

He's the "regular" WBA champ. So he isn't a real world champion, Mormeck V Bell was for the "super" championship which Haye won and vacated.

But because Jones was the "regular" champ the belt was not vacant.

I would like to see Jones-Cunningham II, the first fight was close.

Yes. And since Don King promotes both fighters, it could easily be made.

One of three current champs for Panama. 1 champ per every 1 million people.

                Jones
                Anselmo Moreno
                Celestino Caballero.

Jones started his professional career at 147. Pretty incredible to be a cruiser champ now.

                  Because he's superior.

Just kidding, watched Anger Management the other day.

There are plenty of good fights out there for him, maybe a fight with Ola Afolabi could be made as he is struggling to find an opponent.
