He's a little one-dimensional IMO being that he's mostly just a stand up straight 1-2 type of fighter but he's very effective at what he does. I felt he'd have a hard time adapting to Calzaghe's style and that's pretty much what happened. I also have to wonder how well he can take a punch being that he was hurt by a Calzaghe body shot. If he beats the Americans who I feel would probably give him the most problems I'll definitely give him a lot more respect.

I am very interested to see how well Dirrell and Ward take the euro's shots.
If they can, and don't employ too much hugging (Ward) or running (Dirrell)
        it ought to be interesting.

Ward is quicker than Kessler but I don't think Kessler is going to let him hug late.
Dirrell can outslick Froch but I wonder if he can deal with that kind of power.

I am glad we can sort out this mess soon enough.

We'll see how good Kessler is if he completes the tournament.

BTW, how come you have Abraham so high, considering your opinions on Kessler?
I don't think you're going to find many people who think Kessler is as good as Abraham. Abraham has a granite chin, a bigger punch than Kessler and has beaten as good of opposition of Kessler has. I don't think Andrade is any better than Miranda. Beyer was a typical Euro champ, meaning not a champ at all.

Course not, there is no answer. Who cares if Kessler beat Top 10 guys in that crapass division? 168 has been one of the worst divisions in boxing ever since it started. Why do you think Joke Calzaghe was able to stay undefeated? But thank goodness Ward and Dirrell are finally bringing some talent into the division for the first time ever. Danny Jacobs will be there eventually too.

The division is only considered good right now because there are a lot of fairly big names who are all just about even in skill level. There's no great fighters there unless Abraham can separate himself from the rest. So we get exciting fights. But as far as talent goes, no way is 168 even close to comparable to welterweight (3 pound for pound fighters in Williams, Mosley and Cotto with Clottey just outside as a 4th).

Well, you can only beat the people in your division that are in front of you.
Now, there are more guys. For years there weren't.

There was a post earlier about the top 10 in the division and who Kessler fought and beat that was rated by ring magazine but that fell on deaf ears I guess.

Not really. Ward dominated Miranda, who Kessler was actually too afraid to even fight last summer.'

Andrade isn't any better than Miranda, and Beyer means nothing on a resume. They aren't far apart at all. Kessler has just been around longer is the only difference really.
