That is exactly what manny is doing. "i want to fight you, but only if you weigh 145 and you put the title on the line, we'll just act like the two other pounds in the division don't exist." the problem is that manny never mentioned the belt prior to cotto signing the contract that is just foul business. That would be like you buying a house, then the person who sold it to you saying btw you'll only get it now if you give us double the down payment.

all the idiots that say welter weight is from 141-147 arent seeing the other side of the equation just 1 way.140 is jr welter 147 is welter no other class in between there.cotto won the title at 147 meaning he was able to weigh in at a maximum of 147,true welterweight.weighing in at 145 isnt the official welterweight limit and only helps pacyow.therefore the title should not be at stake here.

But if the Cotto fight falls through, he'll try to make a fight with Mosley.

opponents Pac in vegas and Cotto in NY, I'm more than sure
that Cotto would do more #'s. Cotto has been packing the
Garden for awhile now. Before Oscar/Hatton, Pacquiao wasn't
really do big #'s like that. Pac's been in some exciting fights
but Cotto has the PR in NY on smash. I agree that Cotto should
be getting more than what he settled for and it's sickening that
after all the demands Cotto has agreed to NOW they want to
throw some more BS at him. Kind of disrespectful to Cotto.
I think Freddie/Pacquiao are just beginning to inflate their domes!
who knows how big their heads will continue to get. I hope Cotto
KO's Manny.

**** Manny. Cotto doesn't need Manny. And Cotto should have set the fight at 147 in the first place.
And **** Roach too. Can't stand that guy.

it des'nt make a difference how much a fighter weighs as long as he's under the limit and over the limit of the weight class thats under it.this is a legit welterweight title fight, period. mayweather did'nt come in at 154 for the de la hoya fight. he came in at 150 and kicked that ass. cottos belt should be on the line.
