A welterweight normal fight yes but not a "Championship Fight" which by WBO rules and Regulation are fight UP TO 147, not up to 145.

The reason why they wanted Cotto to come down in weight is to make the fight closer to Manny's actual weightclass, which I would argue is 135, or maybe even 140 now.

Do you think they would be fighting at a catch weight if Manny was a natural welterweight ? **** no.

Of course Team Pacquiao is going to want every advantage they can. They're fighting against physically someone who is much bigger.

Everyone knows Manny is not a real welterweight. He's just talented enough to compete with welterweights.


Plus the fact that Pacquiao is the biggest show in boxing now, you can do things like this. Do you think Joan Guzman could negotiate a welterweight to come down to a catch weight to fight ?

its not about being a ***** its about if u want to fight for a title and your the one who challenged the other fighter then you should fight them at there BEST WEIGHT not some weight in the middle it would have been different if Cotto would have challenged him but no it was pacman and they agreed to a non title fight and now his ass wants to change everything it dont work that way if they wanted the title on the line they should have said so the first time not agree to a nontitle fight then after wards change everything
