Sure. He can relinquish that belt and Pac can pay the sanctioning fee and be crowned should he win. Cotto knows this, knows he can't do anything about this, so he decides to use the media to gain any type of leverage by pretending it means nothing.

Nice try Cotto but no. IF Pac wins, it will be a LEGIT win in the eyes of boxing purists and pundits and like it or not, he WILL go down in the books as being the only man to hold titles in 7 weight classes. You all think history will care if it was won at catchweight? You think history will care that Cotto relinquished it or was stripped? IF Pac wins, 25 years from now, you think they will discredit this win because of two measly pounds? lol Sorry everyone, it won't happen.

So Mr. Cotto, go ahead, vacate it or get stripped. Either way this title WILL be on the line for Pacquiao wether you like it or not, if this fight ever gets signed. Why? Because if Pac wins, it will be a date with "No Money" Mayweather and there is NO WAY the WBO misses out on a piece of that pie. Sorry champ, it's really not up to you.....

no.. if cotto gives up the title.. pac cant just pay the sanction fee and fight for it, if cotto gives up the belt before the fight, then pac must fight clottey for the vacant title, as clottey is ranked 2nd

Or maybe the WBO can just do whatever the **** they want since it's their belt. You think they won't find a way to touch on a percentage of this fight?
