There are exceptions, but boxers are the last people to be realistic about their careers. They are a bit like gamblers in this regard. Everyone here might realise how lame that is, but boxing is quite literally littered with examples of fighters who said they won when they lost,were unlucky,got robbed,still have one last title run in them etc.
Sad, but thats boxing and it isnt ever going to change. I just shrug when I hear these things, no point getting excited.Comment

Ricky Hatton is truly what Right Place and Right Time means. He beat Tszyu will all that wrestling and hitting behind the head. Struggles with Collazo. Fought Castillo, who I felt didn't want to fight. Plus he was giving his check to Corrales wife. Max Kellerman asked him what does he want to say to Floyd after that fight. I never heard that ever in my life from Max, Larry, or Grey. That really makes me think the fight was fixed.
Got outboxed by Floyd and dropped. He was still trying to wrestle and hit behind the head. Fought Juan Lazcano and struggled. The ref even let him tie his shoe when stunned. Looked good against Paulie. Then got his ass iced against Pac.
I also don't believe he felt better at one 140 then 147. He just fought better fighters and they outboxed him.
But it was fun while it lasted.Comment
