Filipino boxing hero and world pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao has insisted that his “Fire Power” showdown with Miguel Cotto on November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas be for Cotto’s welterweight title and Top Rank promoter Bob Arum says he “has no problem with that, let’s have it done.” [details]

If Pacquiao is actually after the title and will not allow Cotto to go to 147 limit then I am very disappointed. If he wants the title there should be no catch weight bull****.

title fight can happen at the range of 141 to 147 lbs. thats the range of
welterweight. why does everybody assumed the the title fight should
only be happen at 147????

Technically anything from 141 to 147 is a WW fight, but is a WW fight is the max weight of 147 is allowed, even if you weight less than that!!!!!!!!

it does'nt make a difference. if the fight is 141 or above and 147 or less the its a God dam welterweight fight period. so the title should be on the line or pac won't take the risk. he can wait for the mayweather vs marquez winner.

Cotto should just vacate the damn thing, and make everybody including the WBO ******.

If Cotto vacates the bs belt, he wont have to pay sanctioning fees, is simple as that.

I have always had respect for Manny but I hope he gets beat down for acting like such a *****. He wants to fight Cotto for his 147 title but wont let the man come in at 147. This guy is shook. The funny thing is this idiots think Varcarcel is doing it to have a bigger fight or just to help Manny, but in the end he just wants to get paid, I mean as a challenger Pacquiao will have to pay 150K and Cotto as the champion will have to pay 400K, thats half a mill for the WBO.
