cotto is a champ at ww....manny challenges for the belt and history.
it is superfluous to argue about the belt on the line.
it is a "given"....does anybody fought and challenges a champion without the prize of the belt???

Agree w/ you bro...Well said, it really makes sense not only for Pacquiao but also for his fans and the Filipino people to fight for the belt, honor, glory & for history...It's not only for money but a 7th world title in 7 different weight divisions is more than money, it's history in the making & he could be considered one of The Greatest of All Time considering the status of Cotto being a great & strong champion...A very,very difficult feat to follow of any boxer in history considering his size & body built...

A win over Dela Hoya is justifiable but a win over Cotto is legitimate...

The belt was never mentioned when they agreed at 145... don't get me wrong, I'm a Pacfan but demanding the belt and catch weight at the same time is like taking all advantages away from Cotto and giving it to manny, which is not fair for me... as boxing fan...

i think its unfair..cuz the rules allow cotto to come in between 141 and 147...now they implemented a set of rules within the rules...in favor of manny...but again like i said up top..if Cotto agrees to them then theres nothing we can say..he knows himself more then we do..if hes comfortable fighting this fight with all the catches...then go for it.

his only control is whether or not he pays the sanc fees or not.

He cant have a title in the welterweight division & have a fight in the welterweight division & decide he's not gonna put it up.

Technically, 147 is only the limit for Welterweight.

Meaning you can't weigh in at anything over it.

Anything under it, and above 140 can be considered a Welterweight fight.

Technically yes but they are putting a restriction on cotto not to weigh over 145 pounds. Pac is the biggest fraud of them all, some of his titles are bull**** his lightweight title against David diaz lol what a joke, hes title against hatton lol what another joke and he is pursuing his 7th against cotto and putting a restriction on his weight but fighting for the welterweight title. Not to mention cotto los some of what he had against marg and now is coming out of a though fight with clottey. If pac wins he will have all the records on paper but he is a big time fraud. cotto can choose not to pay the sanction fee and be stripped of the title before the fyt......of which i'm sure he doesn't want.
wbo will make manny the legit champ if he wins, whether or not cotto put the belt at stake.

Do you at least know about boxing and know that dlh already had won a middleweight championship vs sturm and his WBO belt was also on the line. Where the **** is pacs belt on the line? not to mention he fought hopkins at the time considered #1 P4P in the world and dlh having a cut on his palm. Cotto just got taken something away by marg if not everything he just came of a though fight against clottey where he should of lost that fight if not giving a gift by PR lol I mean NY doesn't it equal to the same thing hometown decision??
