This is an easy fight for Paul Williams... you think Bernard Hopkins boxed his head off.. what is he going to do against Williams who can box AND match Pavliks work rate? The title is more important than the money.. when he beats Pavlik he will be the best fighter from 147-160. That will bring some real money. Easy money and belt for Williams.. forget the gate.

I totally agree with that But can't knock his team for trying to
get the best deal BUT with that said Goosen/Haymon shouldn't
let this opportunity pass, considering! that it will be on HBO
AND it is for the title at 160. Williams stands to win a lot more
in the long run.

Not necessarily.

One could say that Paul DOMINATED Winky Wright. The same Winky Wright who many people felt beat the same Jermain Taylor(I personally had it a draw) Pavlik did for the championship.

Therefor one could say that Pauls biggest win is on par with Pavliks. That is hardly disputable.

I'm not dis*****g the points being made but I would try to
get $ from everything too, instead of settling right out the gate.
Why take nothing, when you can potentially get a piece
of it all by holding out a lil? IF it was me and it's not, I would
take the $1.55 MIL and the opportunity BUT you have to
understand that the guys trying to negotiate this fight is
talking for Pavlik/Williams. I think this fight could be the
career boost Williams needs to reach the point where he
becomes a bigger name and IF his team can't come to an
arrangement then they will hurt his rep and name UNLESS
they have other plans for Paul. I agree that Williams doesn't
have the luxury to disregard fighters because he is still trying
to break out.

The only way that what Williams and Goosen are doing turns out to be right is if HBO eliminates all of Pavlik's other options at 160. Williams has a bigger talent pool to choose from because of his ability to move up and down in weight. But he needs to plant his feet somewhere.

yeah i did see him get schooled by a master boxer named bernard hopkins someone who has nothing in common with paul williams. hopkins is a stronger and more skilled fighter then williams. williams does have a chance against pavlik because of his amazing workrate and decent chin but he will get hit a lot and i dont know if he can hold up against a power puncher like pavlik
