I respect that more than some low life internet loser like you.
That doesn't that mean you would have done the same, is what I mean.
I never said who the dumbest post came from.

I love these "Gangster Wannabe" posters thinking they're 10 men. LMAO.

Had Vernon not been carrying a gun, he might have been able to get out, get his kid and let two 'jackers drive away in a car he could get back through police/insurance. He had a gun, in that situation he drew and went after these car jackers.....it's easy to criticise this now in retrospect, but when it's happening right in front of you and you have a kid in the back how many of you could honestly say in the heat of the moment that if you had a gun on you that you wouldn't pull it out and defend yourself and the child? The crux of the problem lies with why he was carrying a gun and if he didn't have the gun he might not be dead. As it happens the gun was a liability to his safety, not protection, because two car jackers who wanted a car probably would have left a defenceless man and child alone just to get away with the Jag. Instead they were confronted by a gunman and when their own safety was at risk like everyone else they were going to shoot, and did. Vernon thought he had the means to defend himself, the 'jackers saw it and were under threat and they killed him. If Vernon didn't have the means to defend himself the 'jackers would have not feeled threatened, they may have left Vernon and the child stood at the gas station whilst they sped away in the Jag.

Vernon showed the temperament of a fighter who wanted to defend himself and his g/f's son.

Gun or no gun, the assailant would've come back and shot him in the back regardless.

Vernon stood up for himself, his son and he died with honor and I respect him for that.
If more people stood up for themselves and their honor like Vernon did we wouldn't be such a country of god damn pushovers.

Gun or no gun, sometimes its just somebody's time to go and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I'll always remember Forrest for being an extremely talented boxer with the style to beat anyone within 3 divisions above him.

        Travel well brave warrior.
        Agreed 100%.

Its lame nerds like you who've watched one too many movies, sitting at a computer, talking about "honour" in getting yourself killed in a gun fight that could've easily been avoided.

                  R.I.P Vernon
                  This. And only this.
If his family's life was on the line by suspected kidnapping by all means go ahead. But I think they just wanted the car in which case, keep your family safe, don't take chances, give em it. Not *****, its called being smart and having sense. Too many people mistake it w. cowardice possibly because too few people posses it?

It's sad that individuals don't even feel safe in thier own town or city. No one is off the radar. If the "have-nots" think they can get you, it's a rap....sick? yeah. But that's the reality. If you have never been in that type of situation you can't relate. There is no script to a robbery situation. You act off of impulse. You make rational thoughts after the situation has passed.

True which is why I said I can't speak for him. But these posters are coming hear with their warrior way bull**** saying that its the only way it could've be done/the man's way/same thing I'd do bull****. That's not cool, that **** is a joke. Easy way for more people to die, trying to prove their macho ego out to everyone. A real man doesn't have to do that kiddie ****. Grow up ppl, you still in high school? Cause you damn sure got that mentality.
