Much respect to Vernon for going out like a warrior.

I'm reading a lot of posters blaming the gun for this incident when it has little to do with it.

Vernon showed the temperament of a fighter who wanted to defend himself and his g/f's son.

Gun or no gun, the assailant would've come back and shot him in the back regardless.

Vernon stood up for himself, his son and he died with honor and I respect him for that.
If more people stood up for themselves and their honor like Vernon did we wouldn't be such a country of god damn pushovers.

Gun or no gun, sometimes its just somebody's time to go and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I'll always remember Forrest for being an extremely talented boxer with the style to beat anyone within 3 divisions above him.

    Travel well brave warrior.

Sometimes its hard to know what is the right thing to do. Wether to act according to what you feel or what your sense/logic is telling you.

I can't blame him for his action but at the same time in most cases it's more safe to stay calm and let the punks take whatever they want.

Thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard. Youre talkin to a man in me that kept a gun on me and went to Prison for selling drugs but you are a fool if you think it makes you more of a man to die over something so materialistic like a car or a chain. Sorry but Id much rather be living then to leave my family behind because I thought that was the thug thing to do. BTW, Im not saying thats what happened in this case but Im just talkin about your response.

As for this case, I totally agree that you have to defend kids to the death but my #1 code is that you dont do anything that isnt absolutely necessary. He ran the cats off, now get in your car and go. You never chase after anyone. Were boxing fans so we all know the old saying in boxing that you never follow a puncher around the ring. Well thats the same thing in the streets. You never chase after someone who has a gun, let alone 2 people because you can get lit the **** up

some of you have too much pride...if he and the child were no longer in danger and he gave chase to try and catch and kill the guys...than that was a mistake that didn't need to be made...it's a car...insurance got you in **** like that...you'll have a rental and then a new car by the end of the month...no item in this world is worth one human life...not even land...

i agree.....i can't blame vernon though, its not his fault that we got so many brainless and shameless *****z in the world.....

same time, from what i heard on espn, he "gave chase" and got in a shootout.....not sure if it was on foot, or in the car, but regardless, if you got a kid with you, you do what you can to make sure the kid is safe. in this case, the kid is alive still, so.......

                    this **** is senseless though....
