BattlingNelson, what I'm saying here is that, the size difference between the two isn't that big. You on the other hand are looking at it from a different perspective. Your thing is, "JMM is jumping up two divisions, this is a mismatch!". I mean pay a little attention, an example, a 3rd fight between JMM and Pacquiao, wouldn't Pacquiao come into the ring weighing 148? I know, you don't want me to switch the subject but this is only an example.
How could a 147-148 Mayweather be such a mismatch in size to JMM and not a 147-148 Pacquiao?
I understand that because a fighter fights in a certain division then he should be labeled as that. Just remember, I'm talking about size here. You view it as Marquez fighting a WW, because Mayweather campaigns there, I view it as Marquez facing a Jr WW, because that is more Mayweather's natural size in my opinion and he'll come into the ring, weighing as a Jr WW should weight.Last edited by Doctor_Tenma; 07-23-2009, 05:21 PM.Comment

both recent instances where he might've fought at JWW (Hatton and JMM) he chose to fight above it for the sake of asserting power, fishing for an advantage simply because he can.
Hatton was challenging Mayweather, not the other way around, thus he made the compromises
Marquez doesn't hold too many bargaining chips, thus he made the majority of the compromise
it may not sit well with you, but this is boxing, **** happens. Floyd's just playing the game... he won't take responsibility for the sacrifice when he doesn't need to, just for the sake of being a gentleman. it's naive to assume that he, or any other boxer, wouldComment

Fair enough. I just don't put much validity into unofficial weights governed by a broadcaster and probably done with clothes on and on a bathroom weight.BattlingNelson, what I'm saying here is that, the size difference between the two isn't that big. The thing that matters is what they weigh at the official weigh in. That's the rules.Comment

I agree that it's to gain every kind of advantage that he can. I also posted that earlier. I have no problem with that other than it devalues his win.both recent instances where he might've fought at JWW (Hatton and JMM) he chose to fight above it for the sake of asserting power, fishing for an advantage simply because he can.
