welterweight is a division.

147 is the weight LIMIT of the division, which is welterweight.

welterweight 141-147.

I repeat, 147 is not a division. it is a number of the maximum amount of weight u can come in & still QUALIFY as a welterweight bout.

Just to recap;

147 is not a division, but the weight limit of a division, called welterweight.

but the solid argument is that because he's not allowed to weigh in at the max limit that he believes he shouldn't have to put the belt on the line. is that about right jab/jack?

how credible would it be for the '47 division to have a title holder that just lost? lost within the limits of the division against a smaller fighter

That is the biggest problem with catchweights and why I don't like them. ANY title fight should be held within the total limits of the division. If Cotto lost it would look bad of course. But if he is forced to put that title on the line without being given the whole scope of the division, Pacquiao's victory is tainted. I think Pac is going to beat him, I just think it should be done fairly. 145 is not the limit no matter how you look at it.

I don't mind 45' as long as its just a showcase fight. But if he wants to fight for the title then Cotto must be allowed to make the 47' limit.

45' null and voids the title because Cotto isn't allowed to make the weight he won his title at.

he wasn't forced. he signed the contract before pac did.

if anyone being forced pac was. arums bonus check makes it evident.

the biggest blunder was not putting the belt up for grabs somewhere along the fine print.

I think Cotto just want more from the cut. If WBO sanctions it, Cotto will have to pay 3% from his cut. Maybe if the Arum pays it, that`s what they want.

the fans,team cotto have to sacrifice 2lbs to make this fight. i think the trade-off is justified.
