I would put Mayweather at 2 and Marquez at 3. You dont beat the P4P#2 and not take his place, especially when you were previous #1 a yr ago and havent lost.

Don't be mislead by Floyds jibberjabber. He's out to sell a fight here and it sells much better if people thinks it's a battle for p4p supremacy. Joe Average may buy it. Boxing fans will not.

Interesting thought that JMM might rate higher than Floyd even though he loses. I haven't really thought about that, but it would be hard to rank him above Floyd despite him being at a huge weight disadvantage wouldn't it?

So if Wlad Klitschko beats Pac he should be p4p no.1?

It definitely feels wierd still having Marquez ranked higher than Mayweather despite the victory considering he was #1 a year or so ago.. However I believe that is the point of "P4P" rankings that it is in relation to weight.. How does everyone have these two guys ranked after the fight if Mayweather wins? I'm really not sure what to expect. The thing is Marquez shouldn't lose too much ground b/c he's going up in weight..

Exactly. It will be quite fun to see how the p4p rankings of various 'experts' looks like come october. It will definetely spur some debate.

BTW I can see that you think Floyd should be ranked no.1. Please explain the logic behind that since it's welterweight beating a superfeatherweight.

I can see you didn't read my 1st post. What I meant was, what "Huge Weight Disadvantage?".

According to the poll.. there is actually gonna be a decent % of fans who think Mayweather will have earned the #1 spot.. I really think this has to be viewed as if Pavlik beat Pacquiao in August, would it then be fair to rank Pavlik 1 and Pacquiao 4? Probably not. But this becomes really complicated b/c Mayweather/Marquez don't look thaaat different in size.

Very true, we have one guy who started at 126, another who started at 130. WWs don't come into the ring weighing 147/148, Jr WWs do, the mismath isn't in the size, P4P I'd still call this a mismatch, Mayweather in my opinion, is just levels ahead of JMM, overall better in every department.
