Hopkins is past prime, The Taylor fights showed that, but he still is better then Calzaghe.
And took 7 years to unify at 160? So the **** what. He had a Major belt for that seven year. You cant argue with Hopkins Competition like i said he had a REAL BELT (IBF) compared to Calzaghes (WBO) so the level of competition isn't debatable. And for years Hopkins was destroying Top 10 Middleweights while Calzaghe was fighting guys with Weak Records who weren't Top 20 Super Middleweights.

For those ******s who thinks that CALZAGHE is overrated.
CHRIS BYRD Olympic silver medalist with 200+ fights and Calzaghe beat him.

Everybody knows that he beat Chris Byrd, but that is not a huge achievement.

However, beating the likes of Bernard Hopkins and Mikkel Kessler is, as is becoming Undisputed World Champion. I don't think anyone underrates the guy.

What, Calzaghe ducked Hopkins when he was younger?? Calzaghe? Come on get your facts straight. Warren made a lucrative offer for a Calzaghe-Hopkins fight, like he did for the Tszyu-Hatton fight, in which Tszyu earned his biggest career-payday. He offered him 3M $ which was a jackpot compared to the 300K $ Hopkins received for the Daniels-fight, which was the first fight after the Tito-victory.
Showtime was involved, DonKing was ok, Warren was ok, Calzaghe was ok and suddenly Hopkins doubled his demads which was delusional. In the Calzaghe-book Warren, DK and the vize-president of SHO confirmed the story, so **** off.
So Hopkins stayed at MW and fought another WW in DLH. Calzaghe beat Mikkel Kessler who would kill DLH and Tito head-to-head. So whats more impressive?
But you are just another dumb ignorant yank. Otherwise you would not mention the Jones-fight because it's pointless legacy-wise. Calzaghe was a great fighter before he fought Jones, and he had more impressive wins anyway. It was a farewell-fight, and Calzaghe looked ok. Nothing more.

Calzaghe wanted Hopkins to go to his country, which is ******ed, because Hopkins was p4p and Calzaghe was ****. His best win up to that point in 2002 was a win over a washed up Eubank. Plus he only had a WEAK WBO belt. Why should Hopkins move up to Fight a NOBODY at the time, then keep his middleweight Defenses. Your obvious DUmb, and Calzaghe's farewell fight was nothing more then a easy way out to a Fraud Career.
