I don't think Wlad wants to wait around until Povetkin's ready in December or January 2010. So he will likely fight someone else...

I think the logical choice is Eddie Chambers, his WBO mandatory.

But will HBO make it complicated? Will they want to show some other fight no one wants to watch instead? If they do, he should forget about them and move on, since he'll still make about $12,000,000 and Eddie would make a few million (his biggest payday ever) even without HBO.
wow are you sure? there's a lot of money in that fight

i like povetkin and chambers but sadly, neither one of them would be ready to give wlad a serious run for his money. they both get battered with relative ease at this time (even if they both have a few more fights, theyre just not ready now). they'd be ready in like 2-3 years but wlad would be retired by that time (or just past his prime)

Wlad/Chambers will probably happen next, it will be a replay of Wlad/Byrd. Another dominant KO win for Wlad.
so what greg page knocked down mike Tyson sparring in Edmonton! It is only sparring!

Chambers does sound like a good choice.

That's why about 20 heavyweights contacted Wlad when Haye pulled out. Chagaev made about 3 million for that fight, and Wlad made about 12 million, even without HBO.

Wlad is not a big star in the US, but in mainland Europe he's a major celebrity. Every heavyweight wants to fight him (except the cowardly Valuev) because of the huge payday.

Correction here: I just learned that Povetkin was approved by the IBF last week to extend his mandatory status until Dec 12/09. Will that give Chambers enough time in between to fight Wlad? I think Wlad may try to have the IBF extend it to Jan 2010 so he can fight Chambers in October.

Raphael Butler and Travis Walker whooped on Vitali during sparring sessions. It don't mean anythin, dude probably is sparring after running miles, hittin the bag and swimming. Then you get in the ring and mistakes can happen.

I just hope Wlad takes a fight before Povetkin. Dec 12 is too long a wait.
