Not undisputed as Bute (IBF) and Balszay (WBO) are left out. The winner will however no doubt be no.1 in the division.

IT's good to be the KING

It will be interesting to see if King Arthur keeps his slow “feel my opponents out” start during this new challenge of his. Personally, I think at 168, guys have a lot more power and he might not be able to turn the extra gear of explosiveness and strength to bully his opponents. Props to AA for dropping belts and leaving Pavlik and Sturm sitting in the corner eating ice cream and crying (ala women) over a picture of any meaningful fight or fan pleasing fight.
I also think that AA could gain massive popularity in the United States as will all of these guys with a solid showing in this tournament. I just hope Jermaine is not forced to hang 'em up afterwards.

I like pavlik but now who you going to fight? Sturm? That's all that's left in your weight class! I hope it was arums fault & not yours for being chicken! You should fight sturm in Germany.if you knock him out in Germany you win fans back.rubio was a mandatory but why were you in talks to fight mora or duddy?

Pavlik has to be blamed for Pavlik-Abraham not happening because he resigned with Arum. If he was displeased with Arum's decisions he would have moved elsewhere.

I have to ask one question who the hell did Arthur fight at middleweight? He had what ten defenses and he fought Miranda twice and Gevor, to me that hardly makes him a world beater. He also has only had one defense outside of Europe and I recall when Calzaghe stayed in Europe he was called a bum, so what is the difference? With Calzaghe at least he fought some former champs as Arthur fought a collection of nobodies and never was with his bum of the month run. To me it is simple Pavlik has fought the better opposition and no one on this thread really knows why the fight between the two did not happen. Because in my opinion Pavlik may be a limited fighter but I hardly believe he would be afraid to fight anyone.

Abraham also had wins over Eastman and Ikeke when both were still strong top ten presences and Ian Gardner was a nice breakthrough win. Pavlik has Taylor to mildly put him over the top wins wise but Taylor isn't so good it makes for a massive leap in difference. AA can prove or fail in the next year or so. He'll certainly have a lot better chance than a Pavlik who has been mismanaged on unreal levels.

The only worthy opponent for Pavlik in my view is Paul Williams. Sturm is a nobody. I know Paul Williams might have gotten too big for his own good at the negotiating table when this fight was first presented at the time Pavlik was undefeated, but Pavlik is the one who is struggling for TV exposure. Paul Williams is not.

I've got mixed feelings about Abraham's future fight with Taylor. I can throw negative criticism at it and just say Abraham is fighting a damaged fighter coming off a KO loss. But I can also look at the positive side of it. I know Taylor is leftovers from Froch and Pavlik, but he is a step up in comp from the dudes that Abraham fought at 160. If Abraham is willing to get in the ring with Taylor, we know he wasn't scared of fighting Pavlik. Abraham's poor opposition as of late has a lot to do with the weakness of the Middleweight division. Taylor will be a step up though.
