Juan Manuel Marquez is on the slide

Juan Manuel Marquez is on the slide.

Juan Diaz gave him hell and wobbled him.

77-75 for Marquez. Max DeLuca had it 77-75 for Diaz, and Levi Martinez had it 76-76. Yahoo! Sports had it 77-75 for Diaz

An old shot Casamayor was outboxing him early on.

Manny Pacquiao had him on the canvas AGAIN!! and i actually thought he won the fight this time, not to say i thought he lost the 1st but i thought this was more convincing.

Juan Diaz is a legtimate opponent who is nearing his prime. The fact that Marquez KOed speaks wonders for Marquez, it doesn't mean he is on the slide.

Bringing up the fact that Pacquiao knocked him down is pointess, more so when Marquez managed to stay competive for the duration of the fight and arguably win in some people's opinion.

If someone is fighting top opposition and competiting/winning distinctively there is no proof that they are 'on the slide'.

        Bold: WTF?

Everything else I kind of agree with. I don't think Marquez is slipping though, Pacquiao is the P4P #1 and he had a really close fight with him even though I agree he lost. And having a competitive fight with Juan Diaz is nothing to be ashamed of either.

I had him ahead of both Casamayor and Diaz. Casamaoyor is a slipper SOB, and its hard to out-counter him. I had JMM ahead of Diaz by a bit at the time of the stoppage.

You think that's bad? In 3 viewings, I could only give Marquez one round (the 8th). That's how silly and old he was being made to look on the night, before that fortunate KO.

I'm a fan, but that fight was really bad for him in every way. He did nothing right until the cut and backpedalled worse than Cotto (but not as fruity).

I think it's the change of style that has made JMM very hittable this time.

I don't think he's on a slide. His ability to take punches, punch at creative angles and deliver that ko is the reason I've been rooting for him, except when he takes on Pac of course

JMM has been peakin late in his career, or at least fightin wit heightened intensity. He ain't slippin that I notice. He gave Pac hell, and I had him leadin Casa before the KO. Diaz fight was even. He don't fight like his age indicates he would. Problem is in the Mr boat buyer fight, he ain't a ****in WW. That's it. I wish he wouldn't have bothered wit that bull**** fight and concentrated on 135 or 140.
