no doubt JMM is a better fighter than hatton. but that does not mean he'll do better than hatton. im not saying he wont. im even giving him a chance to beat FMJ. its just that there other things to consider, like JMM being in that weight for the first time. his age. FMJ's skill. and both of their styles. etc.

Not if he let's his head hang out ther like in the Diaz fight. Diaz started sluggin and got out slugged but PBF ain't that reckless. Still JMM is #1 p4p right now (excluding PBF) in my head and Hatton hasn't come close. JMM got all kinda skillz and heart to match em

I have no opinion on this, as it is really impossible to tell. We have no idea how the weight will affect JMM and how the lay off has affected PBF. Depending on those factors, JMM may do better than Ricky or may do a whole lot worse. We just won't know till fight night. I really hope that JMM does and somehow picks up the win, but IMO I think PBF stops him.

Marquez, unless completely screwed by the weight gain, I don't think will get knocked out. He's a crafty counterpuncher so there is a good chance Mayweather will need some time to develop a strategy. Marquez certainly won't just walk into anything like Hatton does.

I dont know, Hatton was quick against PBF.

He got on the inside no problems, that's impressive.

You got to think PBF on form just won't give JMM anything to counter. So he has to be more aggressive to create opportunities, and well, he's the smaller man.

JMM would destroy Ricky though, it would be a train wreck.

Marquez will be more competitive than Hatton as long as he is not coming foward and leading to Mayweather, he does that and his questionable defence will mean he gets hit with the cleaner/harder shots, also Marquez is not a guy that closes distance fast, so if he does come foward Mayweather will have time and space to counter.

If Marquez is gonna come foward and be aggressive he better close the gap fast and not give Mayweather time to think about what he is gonna throw, but that is dangerous to.

Marquez best bet is to make Mayweather lead to him but i cant see that happening.

Floyd should be more aggressive but then again, Floyd literally takes all risk out of his fights by fighting so cautiously. He probably could have blasted Hatton out in about 4 rounds if he wanted to but that would have widened Hatton's window of opportunity to land something. To be fair to Ricky he was coming of a one-punch KO against JLC so he was dangerous and confident enough to pull the trigger.

It's hard to blame Floyd I guess for eliminating risk but it would be nice if he went after the smaller man for a change. But if I guess if we were all in Floyd shoes with his ability we'd fight the same way.

I do think JMM could knock Mayweather out, to be fair. His last two KO's have been so conclusive it's hard to see how he couldn't cary that power up another 7 pounds or so.

The Hatton Floyd fought would run smooth over JMM.

                      Agree.

The power could conceivably be there for him, whether he is able to do anything with it we will have to see.

The way Floyd was haggling over the extra couple of pounds i would not be surprised if he fights his usual boring fight, i think he would fight a tactical fight against Edgar Sosa
