Cotto is good but not a person who people will bring back memrose after 10 years after he retires.

if people here rarely put thread about Bobby Chacon, Salvador Sanchez, Alexis Agrulleo, Lemon Bazooka...etc those fight where much better and has alot more heart then today's fight and they are rarely mentioned so I dont think Cotto would be mention that much in the future
How? Why would every fighter turn to dust with just pressure and a high work-rate? Margarito is one of the great pressure fighters with one of the highest work-rates fighting today and it mattered not a jot against a 37 year old dude in Mosley.

Its all about how you fight. If you let a guy that has a high work-rate with lots of pressure move forward while you move backward, you're ****ed to put it simply. You have to clinch and move to the sides and be slick and not lie on the ropes against that type of guy and they can be easy to beat.

I think that Cotto being as big, or a little bigger, than Pac will help him in that he won't feel like he has to move backward all the time like he did against Marg, Clottey and Mosley in parts. Those guys were all bigger than him, whereas Pac will be about the same size, although Cotto will end up weighing more obviously, but I really doubt that is going to make much of a difference. Pac and Cotto are basically the same size. They're both about 5'7, though I think Pac is about 5'6 1/2 or something, and they have the same reach. With the way Pac fights now, it is not the weight that matters it is the size and they are both even in size and so that means that Cotto will probably be coming forward more than we have seen lately and Pac will be boxing the site out of him. Angles, in and out, ten million straight lefts etc etc, with Cotto a little too slow to do much about it and not big enough for size to really matter much.

I think all those list are advantages for cotto, The more experienced you are the better fighter you become, If he hasnt gone through anything before then it would be difficult for him to know what to do if something like that happens to him.

you hit the nail on the head with a lot of this stuff but I think you're crazy to say his dexterity is an issue at all

cotto still doesnt seem to know though. hes incapable of clinching, even when rocked badly. Just because he's been through those experiences doesnt mean he's learnt from them

Why the hell people still trying to find ways to say that Pacquiao will beat Cotto with easy?

Cotto is a good fighter, better than Hatton, better than DLH was when fought against Pacquiao and much better than David Diaz.

It will be his biggest fight in years.

As you make Cotto look bad, if Pacquiao ever wins, will not be considered as a great victory.

And i really need to say: Cotto is a good fighter, good fighters are not losing easy against nobody. Pacquiao will have to go with his best performance to win this fight.

Cotto has no problems with speed 'cause he has an excelent timing. Timing can break speed and if he does so Pacquiao will be troubled all night long.

I am not saying Cotto will beat Pacquiao, he is the underdog. Pacquiao probably will defeat him in a very good fight.

cotto's resume is GOOD. that is all. maybe not his fault but it is what it is.

he is a solid fighter with good skills. nothing more nothing less.

              but since you insist......

Cotto gets touched alot.....no doubt!!!........but he also does alot of touchin' of his own!!! Cotto gives out way more punishment than he takes!!!!.......Cotto and Marg may have ruined each other!!!.....the verdict is still out on that tho'!!!

The problem with Cotto he is an A-level fighter but still not the elite fight due to his stamina.

His jab and speed is underrated but there is alot of things he got to work on to become a top notch.
                  who is an elite fighter??

He has fought against top oposition all the time, and lost only once (and that fight is questionable, when you think about plaster in Margarito's arms). In his last fight he fought with bad cut since third round, and still won by decision, against Judah he was hurt and cut, and he still find a way to win.

He has a good chance against Pacquiao, i think how he will adjust to speed difference will be the key, if he can overcome that, he will be fine.
                  agreed

                  correct

so cotto got hurt by torres at 140 and now he's not elite or top? so manny got hurt by JMM at 130, so i guess he's not elite??

people need to realize that this is gonna be a great and tough fight for both fighters. i expect a war and i am fan of both but i'm not going around saying that pac will DESTROY cotto or cotto will destroy pac. that's plain ******

                  both are excellent fighters
