      hopkins is overrated...

not only does hagler win a comfortable decision against hopkins, i'd say he's the only fighter who would actually stick his chin in there just to get a tko on him...

hopkins imo always failed against fighters equal in size and talent...yeah he looked great beating undersized name fighters (tito, oscar, winky, pavlik), but put him in there with a fighter who doesn't have to move up two or three divisions to fight him and isn't intimidated by that hideous excutioner mask (jones, taylor 2X, calzaghe), and he loses every time.....

all of hopkins ko's come when he's comfortably ahead, never when he's being outboxed, that said prime hagler was imo the ultimate fighting machine at 160...he was smart enough to outbox bernard and tough enough to outpunch him...above that hopkins would never in a million years go toe-to-toe with hagler to get a ko, and unfortunately in a fight with a prime hagler, thats what he would have to do.... hell he wouldn't even go toe-to-toe with a green jermaine taylor...lol

hopkins had trouble with a pressure fighter called joe calzaghe, hagler would tear him to shreds.

good post, i concur with that. all of hopkins' biggest wins comes against men smaller than himself. (tarver!! what about tarver???!!!) tarver is ****.

          end.

Funny, most of Hagler's big wins came against smaller guys too.

was hopkins in his prime against calzaghe or was he 43 years old???

You guys underestimate hopkins. There is a much better thread in the history forum.

not only were they smaller, but they have proven themselves to not be equal in talent at 160 or above...tito, oscar, winky didn't do much of anything at 160 and above...the tarver win imo was ok, but tarver was overrated himself...he looked like crap in his prior fight (jones III) and completed a movie...just because hopkins beat a ripe for the taking tarver, you want me to believe he would beat a prime hagler? get the f**k outta here...lol

Could go either way. if the brawler Hopkins came in he would lose. If the technical Hopkisn came in he would win.
