You watch the fight again. Tony was landing straight rights and little uppercuts on the inside all day. He landed more in the later rounds cuz Cotto's stamina betrayed him. As it usually does.

You said it yourself "little" that isn't going to make your face look like that in the 6th round. No matter what anyone says you're never going to believe Marg had plaster, and that's fine. But for Cotto running out of gas "as usual." Are you serious? He got a KO against Judah in the 11th and split the 11th and 12th with Mosley how in the hell can you run out of gas when you KO a guy and/or are winning rounds? Even in the Marg fight he won the 10th until about 10 secs left where he got stunned. Oh well... people can think that just because a guy stop coming forward he is tired, I'll still call it boxing and changing tactics and let his record show that the fight where everyone feels he "faded" is the only fight he's still ever lost.

I'm one of the biggest Cotto fans on here. But I can accept that Margarito was the better man that night.
Maybe a rematch would be different. But on that night Tony got the better of him. Even Cotto has admitted as much. No shame in losing to Tony, the guys a great fighter. You don't become 3 time WW champ and sell out Staples Center because you suck.

And by "little" I mean short uppers on the inside, very sneaky shots that only got picked up on the replays. Not soft.

Come back Tony!! Whether you like Margarito or not he was one of the few boxers willing to step in the ring against other top fighters. I hope he comes back clean and legit and gets the opportunity to lay the allegations to rest.

Marg is good but Listen to Cotto's most recent opinion on the subject - He is saying now that Marg may have indeed cheaed, and so does ESPN's Dan Rafael..."I believe in my heart of hearts that Margarito cheated against Cotto that night"...A couple of factors -
1. The wraps had blood on it when they were found.
2. You NEVER get caught cheating your first time.
3. When Marg fought Mosley even Lampley said, "When Margarito lands, you dont hear the thudding blows as in the Cotto fight."
4. The shots got harder and more effective during the later rounds, which gave the plaster time to harden b/c of all the sweat.
5. Look at Cotto's face - it looks like a car accident...
6. Cotto fought 9 rounds with a huge cute and handicap against the harder hitting Clottey, who couldnt even finish him let alone make him take a knee...the knee was out of character and the lost was as well...
7. Cotto's camp never checked Margo's wraps.
8. Listen to Dan Rafaels input on an over the phone interview - and the guy knows his stuff. His opinion is no question Marg cheated...
