What's funny is that Margarito is right. Now I for one know that Margarito has alot of redeeming to do. But he has a good point. With every pound that goes under 147, he becomes weaker and weaker. I just hope Cotto isn't really weight drained by fight night or else this might be another short fight.

i really hope not. although in reality, i think manny should receive tons of credit for the win anyway, since nobody in this world could've even dreamed about him going from 106 pounds to welterweight champ

I hope not too. I want to see a good fight. I think Roach is smarter than what everybody thinks. He's getting these fighters to give up a lot in order to fight Manny. I tell you every pound makes a difference because of the struggle to fast and basically drain your body just to get to a weight you are not use to be in.

I agree though, Manny deserves all the credit in the world, no matter who he's fought. He deserves the pound for pound # 1 king title. The guy started out his career fighting at 106 lbs, and now he's fighting guys at 140 lbs and above. Could you imagine anybody in the welterweight division fighting Paul Williams at like 155 or 160. He'd crush anybody at that weight from the welter weight division.

yeah man. the only downside to this fight is that the loser will get tons of heat from the press and fans

if manny loses, he'll be seen as a guy who lost to a drained cotto. as a guy who lost even with the fight fought at his terms

if cotto loses, he'll be seen as a guy that lost to a way smaller man

i'd hate that for either of them, although cotto will obviously get more heat, especially now that he's still trying to redeem himself from the margo loss

Not too worried about cotto in this one, he just had a fight a couple of weeks ago so 4 months before this fight, he shouldn't balloon too much, he knows the importance of the fight. Miguel is a very disciplined fighter - do not forget! Aslo do you guys think Pac can beat clottey? especially with one eye? I will tell u this clottey has better defense than pac, Cotto needs a joe goossen (attack and finish the guy off type of trainer). when cotto is in that mode nobody beats him. I just honestly think the 2 pounds shouldn't hurt him that bad because of cotto's discipline, and he knows the importance and i heard he is looking for a good chief trainer - I got cotto in this, If clottey would have won, arum wasn't going to put pac in with him, so that is the angle i am running with on this, read my thread thoroughly before you guys pick me apart, but cotto is excellent with his timing, his balance is exceptional, his heart is unmatched, and he has supreme confidence, oh yeah the boy can crack - you heard the clottey interviews about comparing cotto with margacheato - clottey said no comparison, and cotto's speed is very very underrated as quoted by shane mosley when he lost, and by Zab, and also Manny steward.
