I don't know about Ward just for the sole reason that Miranda is a somewhat notable opponent. He certainly should not be considered over Bute.

Bute has a legit beef, bum beaters Dirrell and Ward should not be in the title picture at this point....and yeah Taylor should have to prove himself at SMW first.

Bute's matchmaker is most likely full of crap. Chances are they laughed at the idea when presented to them because it sounded so far fetched that they thought no fighters would sign on, and now that it's looking somewhat promising they feel like idiots for passing on it.

Bute definetely deserved to be part of this. Shame that he isn't but in all likelyhood his team has had an offer since he has fought on Showtime before. Still there's other good fighters left out so Bute can still get good fights.

Even if Team Bute passed on the idea at first believing that it will never happen, i'm sure with their change of mind, Showtime will negotiate them into the tournament. He is the top player in the division along with Kessler.

Kessler, Bute, Froch, Balzsay (titleholder), Taylor, Andrade, Abraham, Green should be the first 8 choices.

Bika, Dirrell and Ward would be the next 3 if any of the above cannot participate.

It wouldn't be right not to have one of the best titleholders at 168 in the tournament, who is capable of winning it.

No, the point is to get the fights on, so that people will pay Showtime to watch them. They are not doing this as some sort of service to boxing, they are doing it to make money. It only makes money if it happens.

i agree bute should be included, he still may well be.
But i cant believe your bitching about this tournament ffs. It'll be a minor miracle if they can get all the fighters, promoters and non-US tv stations to agree with this as it is. I still have a lot of doubts that it will happen at all. Hell, even if 2 of the names mentioned pull out it'll still be good.
Stop complaining, sit back cross your fingers and toes, pray to whoever u pray to and this might just happen. And if somehoe Bute ends up in it it will be one hell of a bonus.

He had 4 at the start of his reign, then got stripped of 2 of them before the end of it, IIRC.
