    maybe so.

Call me crazy but I don't see anything that impressive about Bute's title reign and the guys he has beaten. Williams Joppy is on par with Peter Manfredo Jr. as far as Super Middle Title Defenses. Basically every fight Bute gets put in is with someone tailor made for him to beat, my guess is that is why his management would never agree to this format.

Add to that the fact he was KTFO by Andrade and escaped with a victory and I don't think this tournament really needs him as long as they have the 6 already listed.

If they want this tourney done right and crown a new champion, they have to take the best fighters possible. I know its about the money but it would not sell as well if they areant crowning a true champion. Even if that means dont make it round robin.

That being said, to make this accurate they must take the top contenders. The most respected ranking system is the Ring. Take there top 5 plus King Arthur.

        Mikkel Kessler 41-1, 31ko
        Lucian Bute 24-0, 19ko
        Carl Froch 25-0, 20ko
        Librado Andrade 28-2, 21ko
        Sakio Bika 27-3-2, 17ko
        Arthur Abraham 30-0, 24ko

Now that would make for a real champion. Many 0's have got to goes.

Get rid of Bika and throw in Ward or Dirrell. Showtime is a TV station and they want TV fighters and TV matchups.

I say Bute stays out, fights Andrade again and then the winner of that unifies with Balzsay.

Then the winner of the tounry has 2 belts and the winner of the Andrade-Bute-Balzsay fights has 2 belts and there can be a full unification.

Only Kessler can beat Bute at 168.
