This would be awesome but seems highly unlikely to come off, especially given they have Taylor's first fight being in Germany... which last I checked, is in Europe... which is not part of the continental US.

Taylor has everything to prove now though, he cant be calling the shots anymore. Hes shown his balls in the past, I dont see why he wouldnt again.

I was mostly joking... after the Froch fight he did say he'd gladly travel to the UK for a rematch if he could get it... I agree that his time in the driver's seat is up.

Plus fighting AA in Germany would probably net him some decent $$$... more than he would likely make at home.

But still, I've got serious doubts about the logistics of this entire tourney. It's just way too good to be true, and in boxing that carries a lot of weight.

It's hard to imagine them setting this up without mandatory challenges and promotional disagreements getting in the way.

I also think that the round-robin style is flawed. For example, if Kessler beats Froch, and Abraham beats Ward , then then surely people will want to see the two winners fight, rather than Kessler-Ward or whatever.

Still, I really hope this comes off, regardless of the format. 168 is full of guys who all have the potential to be competitive with one another, and there will be some great fights if this tournament does happen.

Awesome news. Actually to good to be true.

It's a long tournament so allow me to wonder if they have taken mandatory obligations into account?

Still impressive if they've got so many promotors to agree.

Great news if true. I.l guess they have to abandon there belts - for the "Show-belt". If you win this in a tournament like that, if would be the belt to have .

SMW is so deep, and a lot of fighters from many countries. That should secure the money-aspect.

                    But source anyone ?

Yep, They should mandate this sort of thing in boxing but i doubt it, I think the last time we had a tournament was the don king middleweight fiasco which Hopkins end up winning.
