At 24-0 Cotto was in a shootout similar to the one Victor was in this Saturday...

That fight doesn't go past 5.

Maidana not only has heavy hands, but he can throw 1200 in a fight like he did against Kotelnik. Torres can't throw half of that without gassing.

I just see Cotto finding a way to survive until he got his senses back and winning the fight.
I think Ortiz can beat the dude, he had no business getting in power punching exchanges with Maidana. Piss poor decision on his part. With the way he was fighting, it seemed that he didn't care if he won or lost; he was just going for the KO. When you fight like that, your are more willing to accept defeat when **** ain't going your way. It's the way Eric Morales fought Manny Pacquiao in the third fight. He was clearly going for the KO and when he knew it wasn't going to happen and he started getting beat the hell up, he sat it out and took a 10 count.

Ortiz could have beaten him on Saturday and he could beat him in a rematch. The thing is that I just think Cotto would have adjusted in the fight and found a way to win. That's what great fighters do in a fight, they adapt, unless they're in with another great fighter that doesn't let them.

Granted, Ortiz is 22 and Cotto I'm sure was a bit older.

He could have, but he was trying to knock him out. He abandoned the jab and barely used any movement, except for when he was hurt. I agree, he beats him in a rematch.

Ummm Cotto willingly dropped to he knees twice to avoid getting any more lickin's from Tony. He was clearly wanting his favorite uncle to jump up on the apron with that white towel and stop the fight. And when his uncle finally obliged, he gave him the nod of concurrence basically telling him "Gracias Tio"

Cotto didn't quit Ortiz turned his back to the ref and waved his right hand.

                      The ref say "Let's go"
                      1. Ortiz shakes his head
                      2. Then turns his back to the ref.
                      3. Then waves his right hand signaling "no".

                      4. Then says he's "not going to go out on his shield".

                      Yup just like Cotto.
