How are you going to compare Cotto and Ortiz's decision to stop fighting? Ortiz knocked the dude down 3 times only to end up quitting 2-3 rounds later.

Do you consider that fight an HBO main event though? Showtime Main event maybe, but it is shaky as an HBO main event. Both guys are coming off losses and need to rebuild a bit. Malignaggi especially looked terrible against Hatton. Diaz was great against Marquez, but still lost.

I think that is the point Arum was trying to get at. He was basically stating that many of the HBO dates for the rest of the year may not be "HBO quality" fights. We may see some fairly interesting fights like this one, but nothing earth shattering.

i just cancelled my hbo subscription, they only good fights will be ppv anyway. if they give top rank some dates i'll reorder hbo.

First of all, I feel bad for Victor Ortiz, not for GOLDEN BOY. Ortiz is a great, humble kid, unfortunately his career wasn't guided properly. Now I did see the fight and he did quit, not the same as getting pummeled with loaded gloves and taking a knee (Cotto's corner did the right thing rather than risking the fighter's health) Thats what happens to fighters who signs with Golden Boy, just like the founder and president of the company, who didn't wanna go out in his shield when he fought PACQUAIO. That should be GOLDEN BOY'S new motto...QUIT AND NOT GO OUT ON YOUR SHIELD..DLH did it against TRINIDAD, AGAINST MAYWEATHER, AND AGAINST THE LITTLE MAN PACQUIAO who have for sure KNOCK HIS GOLDEN ASS FOR SURE..TOP RANK IS THE BEST...Golden boy laid down for the rest...I must confess
