  • Arum Speaks Openly on Victor Ortiz, HBO’s Golden Pact

This past Saturday, Golden Boy Promotions was promoting a HBO televised event at Staples Center in California with Victor Ortiz-Marcos Maidana on top. Also on the same night, their promotional rival, Top Rank, was promoting the Latin Fury 9 pay-per-view in Atlantic City. When the news hit Atlantic City, that Ortiz had been stopped by Maidana in six rounds, there was a lot of talk among media members in Atlantic City, regarding the business relationship between Golden Boy and HBO - and the consistent hits to Golden Boy‘s stable of fighters. Arum is a clown "imagine saying you are not going out on your shield"...Wtf how can he say this after Cotto's version of a 'no mas' which included two knees.

Then you have Margarito getting busted with plaster and KO'ed by an aging Mosley under 10 rounds.

Seriously, Arum needs to shut the hell up.

HBO started out very strong, but for the most part, Arum speaks the truth. They constantly make moves that people that know about boxing wouldn't make. Overpaying for Dawson-Tarver II and Williams-Wright are huge mistakes, even if they wanted to secure Chad. Diaz doesn't deserve the criticism though, he lost to the #2 P4P in a great and valiant effort.

HBO needs to hire me to make fights and help them budget their ****. Giving GBP most-all of the dates and having budget issues in the middle of the year is bush league ****.

Now, they don't have any dates for Lopez-Caballero and they don't have much money for a Pavlik fight. Dawson, Williams, Arreola, and Berto will still fight this year on HBO so they probably don't want to mess with Arum too much.

What are you nuts? Cotto took A Plaster Pounding to his face, Victor gave up when he had a chance to adjust and get into the fight but he couldn't take it.

i think it would be better for the fans to leave the dates open and fill them with the right fighters as time comes...this is bs
